First off, thank you for making this forum such a wonderful source of knowledge. I'm a long time lurker. This is my first post here and I'm really not good with introduction stuff, so I'm gonna get right to it.

2.93ct citrine, 9.6x6.5, Untreated and unheated. I've long been gawking at Ulis stones and had to order one sooner or later. It was a cloudy day and I couldn't take a good pic so attached the vendor's one too which is more accurate (however it's slightly less saturated than the vendor pic - which is fine by me considering its unheated). this is his 13 Phase star design.

Tell me what you think! The stone has nice orange and almost reddish flashes. The cutting is like an illusion, super interesting. Uli was pleasant to deal with and the transaction went smoothly, I definitely recommend him. Do you have any stones from him you'd like to share?

Hello and you're starting out buying CSs with a bang! What a gorgeous cut -- all of his cuts are so imaginative. I've looked at that citrine on his site & admired it. What a fun one to have -- and interesting that the cut brings out different flashes of color. Do you have plans for it yet? It would make a smashing ring all by itself.

Look forward to more photos when the weather improves! I'd love to see it in outdoor light.

Thank you so much. Perhaps a little intro would be appropriate, since I am in fact a teenage boy, and have no plans of making fine jewelry. I simply love pretty, shiny objects and have a collector's soul =) This site has managed to keep me interested in one thing for a while and I don't think that the interest is going away any time soon. I took a few better pictures by the window without the glass top on the case. The brown modifier is not as nearly as strong as it looks in the photos, however it is there.

The last photo really shows the reddish flash I was talking about!

Oh my! What a fun stone to play with and I certainly understand it's more fun to play with loose rather than set. :))

Thanks! That means a lot coming from you, I really admire your knowledge on gems - I must've read hundreds of your posts as a lurker.

Here's my large (9.21 ct.) umbalite garnet from Uli, in his Trinity Hexagon cut:img_0107_0.jpg
