I far and away prefer dress #2. The pickups on dress #1, in my opinion, are already a quite dated style and will only become more so in the coming years. They were a BIG fad 2-3 years ago, and in a few years I have a feeling we''ll think of them in the same context as we think of poufy sleeves of the ''80s wedding dresses (think princess Di).

I agree with this 100% It is exactly what I was going to say--only she said it better.

PLUS, #2 looks AMAZING on your figure.

I guess it''s a matter of personal choice. The first one looks too pooffy IMHO but it''s about what you look best in. Would be great if you had some pictures of you in them

I agree with everyone about dress #2. It really is amazing!

One warning-- I tried dresses like this style on in the store and they are super flattering. However, some can really prohibit hip joint movement. The bridal salon lady asked me to step up on the platform in front of the mirror and I had to WADDLE over to it and lift one leg WAY up because I couldn''t bend my hips enough!! JIf I could just stand around on my wedding day and look pretty, it would have been perfect. Just make sure that the awesome flattering dress allows you to move around enough to enjoy your day!!

I like the one with the trumpet skirt better... except for the neckline. If the neckline can be altered to have that slight dip the other gown has, I think it would be perfect. Nice choices!

Congrats on finding two dresses you love! Both dresses are nice...but very different. Which do you prefer? I see that a lot of ladies on here have expressed their dislike with pick-ups. I was a pick-up bride and I wouldn''t have had it any other way. I felt like the most beautiful bride in the world on my wedding day and my dress made my look complete. DH absolutely LOVED my dress. I''ve shown him pics of dresses similar to your #2 dress and he tells me he''s so pleased with the dress style I chose. It totally depends on the bride. Do what you FEEL is the most amazing dress for you. Will pick-ups go out of style, yes. Will that make me regret the style of dress I had on my wedding day? No, not at all. My goal in choosing a dress had nothing to do with what I thought would still be in style 50 years from now. Don''t chose a dress based off that idea. In my opinion all of are dresses will look "dated" in 25+ years.

wow thank you soo much guys!! so i brought my gay uncle who has a beautiful eye and iknows his fabric well!! with me to show him to two dresses! he loved the look of style two but hated the lace he said it looks like sears lace hahah lmao, he actually liked the gown better. i was shocked!! he said my whole mood changed when i had on the ballgown. he hated the pickups in all the pic but when i tried the dress on he said u look like barbie bride hahah my waist looked soooo tiny. i decided i am going to go to the bridal store my friends works at on thurs, they are a huge maggie dealer and i want to try some maggie dresses on if i dont see anything else im going to order the demetrios dress, which in macys bridal was 1400! i saw it online for 825! at my friends store it is around the same. im going to bring my camera on thurs so ill keep everyone posted!! thanks for the imput! i

Glad to hear your going to try on some Maggies! I was a Maggie bride and couldn''t have been happier with my gown! Maggie has some gorgeous dresses. Good luck and can''t wait to see pics!

i loved your dress is that the maggie capri??? I saw ur wedding pic and fell in love with your dress i made my sister look at your pic, i almost bought one on ebay!!!! i tried some demetrios stlyes like that but they didnt have the corset. i cannot wait to try the maggies!!

Hey!!! I don''t know how you''re built, but i''m an hourglass. I thought i wanted this mermaid one like the second one. When my MOH took picture of me in that one vs the aline.... that''s how i knew to end my quest for the mermaid or trumpet gowns. So take picutres.

Personally i love the first one.. and may go try it on! lol
