Hey guys,
Couple random experiences to share!

First, the weird... went swimming yesterday and forgot to remove my diamond/gold studs beforehand. I had nowhere safe to put them so wore them while swimming; not great I know, but I thought for 1 hour it wouldn''t be too bad. Today I felt the backs - normally super secure and noticed that one back was missing entirely (!) and the other was no longer fitting; it was like the hole was way too big. I guess that the earring backs were a much lower % gold and got eroded by the chlorine(??). Anyone know? It was a terrible discovery but I was so glad not to lose either earring, although they are small, they are very special to me! Be careful!!

Next... I have the Dvatche X Prong setting with a ROUND diamond and matching curved band, both plat. Recently on vacation I pulled my husband into Tiffany so I could show him the Etoile and try on some eternity bands, always fun. The saleslady kept complimenting my Lucida!! C''mon, not even the same diamond shape, and they don''t sell a curved band with it. I couldn''t believe it. I let her go on a while too and then when I said it was not the Lucida she was a little huffy. I asked her if a straight band fits right with the Lucida and she didn''t know, just said that that''s what they sell with them. (I love how my curved band fits perfectly, but don''t like when it spins.) But I digress.

And last, for anyone still reading, check out this cool designer! http://williamtravisjewelry.com/jewelry.php A friend recently bought a ring from him and it is just gorgeous (looks much less space age in person). I''m going to visit him to inquire about resetting a cushion cut garnet.

OMG! Last time I was in Tiffany I was wearing my .91 J VS1 superbcert tiffany replica and the saleslady kept on complimenting me on my lovely ring. I tried on a 1.25 G and there was not a significant difference in size or look. In fact, my dirty ring sparkled just as much under their awesome lights.

Wow, those William Travis pieces are really cool! Thanks for sharing!! I especially like http://williamtravisjewelry.com/images/catalog/20032_400.jpg . Very artsy looking stack bands!

And he has some great solitaires...this one is very eye-catching and modern: http://williamtravisjewelry.com/images/catalog/IMG_0762-1-1 .

That''s a funny story about the Tiffany saleslady...I guess they have a few duds on the sales staff, huh!

I''m glad you like the designer! I can''t believe I have not heard of him until now! I am always interested in designers who do something a little different but not TOO out there, since I am pretty conservative with jewelry! I''ll let you know how it goes tomorrow! It was a very important gift, but I just don''t care at all for the current setting. The re-set may have to wait a bit but I want to get some ideas!
