Loose gems that I need to set.

Amethyst from Gary at fine water - 4.70 cts.

Two spinels from Dana at MC - one pale pink, 1.51 cts, the other more of a purple to purple pink, 2.52 cts.

Three pairs of gems - merelani mints, tsavorites, Ceylon sapphires. Pairs range from 4 to 4.5 mm range.
Your amy is my favorite stone of the year. Did you made something with it?

Thank you so much, Alice! It's a beautiful gem and in fact I was just admiring it yesterday, lol.

I have not had it set yet. I'm planning a pendant for it though. I want to do a ring for my next setting project, and then a pendant after that, so it's not too far out there from being done. I'm planning on it being set fairly early in 2014.

Thanks so much for your compliment!

I was after rhodolite this year, but I absolutely love amy! Yes,it is really a work of art. I will be waiting for pictures when you will be done with your project!

This is my little haul. The WG ring was waiting couple years to be set with pink spinel. The rest is silver. The Kojima dark knight pearl ring was not a special order, but it is kind of made in smaller quantities. I also have pink quartz, citrine, pink sapphire, color change, iolite, kunzite, all from recommended prisescope gem cutters.

Ooh, nice rings. I love the setting on the huge pearl! Where did you get the rose quartz? I've been searching for a nice deep rose quartz cab.

The guy is great! It is Rick's Martin rose quartz (it is either artistic colored gem or art cut gems - I know one is Barry's website, I did not order anything from him. And websites looks kind of similar to me). It was such a pleasure to communicate with him. He is very helpful and willing to cut for you if he does not have it in stock. The pearl ring is from Kojima pearls, I was eyeing it for 6 months before getting it. It is a fun ring. It actually has a pink undertone not visible on a picture.

Oooh, is the pink quartz ring the cab third from left? That's my favorite in this pic - it looks so elegant! They all look great.

Yes, the pink quartz is the third. My favorite is citrine, it sparkles like crazy in the sun, and i am very much in love with a cut! ( I believe it was paul newman if i am not mistaking). I think it is my best stone personally, just because citrine is good stone, sunny, positive and brings an owner money :-)

I apologize Gerry Newman from gemart, i've mistake the name with an actor. And i could not correct my post in time.
The pink cab is good, i was eyeing the rings with cabs and they get sold out quickly. They are called here sugar candies?
As i remember correctly Paloma Picasso made it and there is another designer, but they are more than 2-3 k a piece in gold.

Jerry Newman.

And I think it's a sugarloaf.

I will definitely post pics when I set it :)

Your rings look so fun to wear - you got a lot done for your collection in 2013! I love how each ring looks to have a lot of presence. Most of my rings/gems are smaller (my ammy is a good size but it is the exception rather than the rule for me).

Right! On both of them!

I like gemstones. I was able to sell several things, and silver is my metal of choice, I just wear it more often anyway. I was basically eyeing most of the things I did. Freke was and still a big inspiration for me.
I have this asscher I will need to set eventually.
Thank you for the compliments!

alice87, Your rings are lovely. I have a citrine on my list for next year and seeing your's makes me want one even more. I actually have a few things on my list for next year. I think the big goal would be an ametrine suite, with the ring done up like yours. My and my sons birthstone is citrine and my husbands is amethyst so it seems a natural choice. :)

I also want a faceted opal and was wondering what would be the best way to set it. I really like what you did your rose quartz ring and may have to "borrow" your design. ;)

CS are so additive as there are many different colours and varieties, keep them coming please!

I need to find a cheaper hobby as my friends and colleagues have commented!

Athena, I think I went blind looking at your gorgeous sparklies! Each picture, I said, "OH, that's my favorite!" Then the next one turned up & THAT was my favorite. If all those were mine, I'd have them living in a row on my desk where I could have a gem orgy all day!

I love your rings Athena! Especially the yellow diamond. Gorgeous!

Athenaworth, gorgeous! Beautiful!

Koolchicken,
you are welcome to borrow. :twirl:
I like ametrin too! Good luck with your projects for the next year!
