I heard on the news this morning that Beyonce''s 20,000$ diamond fell out of her engagement ring. She lost it. She is upset that it was lost. UPSET!!! I would be getting wheeled into the ER for shortness of breath and a panic attack!!!

I am with you Mine...I would be having heart palpatations.

My friend had her solitaire knocked out of the setting when she was hit on the hand with the ball playing tennis.

I have discovered mine loose in the setting when the prong caught on the handle of a plastic grocery bag. Fortunately it didn''t fall out

It''s sad but with normal wear and tear it happens.

And in Beyonce''s case she won''t have a hard time coming up with the $20,000 to replace it.

Yeh.... that was my first thought. WOW... 20K... I must be doing something seriously wrong in life when I have to worry about a 150$ electric bill when I get a red notice... and Beyonce will be able to brush off a 20K loss... Ugh!!!

I didn't even know Beyonce was engaged..i thought that was kelly

I have to get out of my cave more!

I thought her and Jay-z were "just friends"

. So they''re engaged? and she lost her 20k stone? Well you know what, they have so much money, she could probably replace it that day!

It still sucks though...

I saw a similar item today, but it was Siena Miller''s 20k stone (think it was in the nypost''s page six I think?) from her e-ring....she thought it had come out in her mitten and her mitten was lost.

To this I saw a big whatever. 1) It''s May. Is it so cold that she needs mittens? and 2) have you guys seen her ring? It''s a BUTTON ring--a cluster ring, so there is no big old 20k center.

Now on the other hand, if it WAS Beyonce, I buy it more, but isn''t a 20k stone a bit SMALL for her taste?? (And I didn''t know they were officially engaged either.)

I think it''s time I start sleeping more. For some reason I thought this was a 20 CARAT ring, not a 20K ring. Now THAT would have been something to really freak out about (not that a 20K ring isn''t, but you know what I mean)!!!

it seems that 20,000 would just be a sidestone on some of the bling bling I''ve seen on Beyonce

You could possibly be correct and I have been misinforming everyone. I could have sworn that they said Beyonce. My soncerest apologies.

Nah, the Beyonce story would have been pretty interesting too!! I''m a gossip hound. And were it she, I bet it WOULD be a 20 CARAT rock rather than 20k

They live in London, it''s pretty cold there, this has been a bad winter in England.  Mittens isn''t an impossible idea.  This is the second stone she''s lost out of the same ring ... is she clumsy, or did Jude get a cheapie off eBay?

The 20K is pounds not dollars.  For a cluster ring, that''s way over-priced.

Sienna''s ring is an antique ring, not a little 80s style cluster ring, so from what I''ve read, it''s value is greater than one would expect.

Ah. I guess it would be chilly.

The thing was, the item mentioned the diamond (not the whole ring) being valued at 20k, which I thought was odd since none of the stones looked that big in the pic I''d seen of her ring.....I believe the whole ring was mentioned at something like 30-40k usd when they got engaged, so when I saw this gossip piece I thought it sounded off, knowing that there wasn''t ONE central rock that''d be likely to be worth 20k...unless???....would just being a historic antique make the stone alone worth more?

I''m thinking the entire antique ring, not the lost diamond, is valued at $20K. . .the article is probably wrong about the details

Possibly the entire value is based on one of those not-to-accurate inflated appraisals and the ring is only worth $10K???

This is a little off topic, but it's about lost diamonds...

Last week I was in the jewelry store (looking at diamonds, what else?), and there was an older lady there looking, too. I was with my mom, and we were discussing the different settings and stones and so forth. After my mom walked away, the lady said that I seemed to know something about jewelry, and could she ask me a question. I was like "ok, but I'm not an expert, just a lover of all things diamond". She said that she didn't really want an expert opinion, but wanted to know which one of three or four rings she was looking at looked the most like a wedding ring. She was looking at eternity bands and multi-stone band rings. I looked at her choices, and gave my opinions. She then went on to tell me that she had lost her diamonds that day! She had been out gardening, and when she came inside, realized that they were gone! She had been wearing gloves, and thought that they had probably come off when she removed the gloves. She said she had looked everywhere...inside the gloves, in the yard, and even had gone through the trash, but couldn't find them anywhere! What made it worse...her husband had passed away less than a month ago! I felt so bad for this lady! She said that she could never really replace her diamonds, because they were the ones that her late husband had given her. But that she also didn't feel like she could go around with no ring on her left hand, because it was so soon after her husband passed away, and she was afraid that her friends and acquaintences would think that she had already forgotten about her late husband! She even told me that she'd been praying to St. Anthony to help her find her rings. I wish I knew how things turned out for her. From the way she talked, it sounded like she and her husband had been married for a long time, and had been very much in love. I guess seeing the story about Beyonce's diamond made me think of this lady. I am sure Beyonce is not happy to have lost her big diamond, but this lady had lost so much more than a diamond! She had lost her life partner, and somthing very meaningful that he'd given to her. Things like that can never be replaced, no matter how much money one has.

Here''s the news story I found on this...turns out it was just one of the stones from the ring...not a stone worth 20k.

Regardless, if it was my ring I''d be upset!

sjz,
Thank you for posting that story, it brings it all back to reality. Oh I feel for her that''s awfull.

If it kept falling apart I think I would find another jelwer and get a new ring.
