I introduced my new spinel that I recently purchased from Prima Gems on this thread.

Quick recap: I found the exact setting I was looking for at the last Intergem show on the 19th of February. It held a 8.2mm cognac diamond and I immediately fell in love! I went home and thought about it and called Andrew Sarosi's office on Tuesday and spoke with Carol (who was very nice and helpful through the entire process). After I got all the information I wanted, I thought on it one more day and called them on Wednesday and told them I'd take it (assuming my stone fit). They had another Intergem on Friday, so I knew that the ring might not still be there next week. I was told by Carol that haven't made this ring before and probably won't again.

I mailed my stone to them on Friday for Monday delivery and they received it Monday afternoon.... sent it to their bench on Tuesday morning and shipped it out to me Tuesday night for overnight delivery, so I had it in my hands yesterday morning! That's what I call fast!

I wanted diamonds to set off the stone, but not overpower it and although I love halos, I didn't want a halo for this ring. I'm more than pleased with the outcome. The ring is well made (of course) and substantial (I don't do well with delicate rings) but not bulky... so here she is!!! 18kwg with 1.34ctw of F-VS diamonds. The stone is 8.3mm.

First off is a photo that Carol took for me, but she didn't send it to me until I got the ring because she wanted me to see it for the first time when I opened the box... I actually gasped....... Please pardon all the photos, but this ring is one of the only ones I own that looks good in every lighting I've tried, from bright sunlight to almost dark, both incandescent and flourescent lighting... and she shines like a bright red ball under UV lighting.

Wow, that gallery is almost lovelier than the ring! (I'm a sucker for a good gallery)

Beautiful setting! Lot of bling!

It's absolutely perfect in every way :lickout: Enjoy!

Thanks so much! I must admit, I can't stop looking at it =)

Wow, what a presence the ring makes. Do you have to lift finger weights to wear it?

God that's fabulous!!!!! I can haz, yes?

I second minous' comment about the gallery--beautiful! The ring is a stunner. Would it be possible to ask for just one more pic -- on your hand from a distance? Congrats on such a beauty!

Hi,

Beautiful ring! Wear it in good health.

Annette

Completely stunning!! That setting showcases the stone beautifully. And it achieves a perfect balance! You've got to just be thrilled!!!

It is gorgeous! I love the contrast of color between the diamonds and the spinel. It's perfect!

Thanks once again for all of the nice comments.

GemFever, I'll try to get a shot at a distance, but in all honesty, I think my less than young hands take away from the beauty of the ring, so I usually don't do "at a distance" shots. :(sad

It's gorgeous! Andrew Sarosi does have such nice settings. Btw, how is he doing?

Your ring is absolute perfection!

I didn't speak with Mr. Sarosi directly, but Carol told me she showed him the finished ring and it was only there for 24hrs, so I'm assuming that meant he was at work. I do know that Jaimeen (PrimaGems) told me that he is doing less because of his health issues, but I didn't hear anything more specific than that.

Beautiful!!!

So nice to see Africagems" setting, they do wonderful job. Good diamonds, too. I think that setting this stone high did wonders to emphasize its wonderful cut, and the red stone is very nice. It should look wonderful in real life.

Really incredibly pretty - lucky you. Enjoy wearing it.

Hot, Hot, Hot!!!!!!!!! I love everything about your ring. The red/pink spinel, the diamonds, the design. I can only imagine how many heads that ring is going to turn. Wear it in good health.

WOW!! I don't venture into CS too often, but I spotted this and had to comment!! It's spectacular!!!!!!

All of your nice comments are truly appreciated, thanks so much!

GORGEOUS colorluvr! such delicate work on the underside - how nice to make that a feature as well! The stone really stands out surrounded by all that beautiful white diamond work! Very nice- you must be so pleased and find it hard to do anything but stare  :appl:
