Hallo all :)

I'm considering going in a completely different direction with my main diamond rings so am looking into selling my ACA 3.4ct H VS1.

I bought it for $53k and change only a few months ago. I would be willing to sell it for a 15% loss, at $45,000.

I'm currently trying to get a feel for any interest out there. As with all ACA stones, it's a fire cracker!

Both of your diamonds are beautiful. I would think there would be a lot of interest. Can't wait to hear what new direction you plan on taking. I'm sure it will be very interesting. I'm intrigued!
 
I could be interested. An approx 3.25 ACA H is what I have been looking for on Whiteflash every so often. I was trying to decide on a setting prior to purchasing a diamond. I would be super nervous to purchase from an individual. How would we even go about me viewing the diamond? I am in Southern California. I believe you have LT listings. I will look a little later and try to contact you through there.

Donna, I can absolutely vouch for MrsB. I have known her for a long time and have 150% trust in her and would happily send her the money for that stone myself!!! I just wish I could!!!!!!!!!!!!

That stone has perfect measurements. There is not one single thing I'd change. Well, I change it into under 3 carats so I could buy it myself! lol!

@donnabrsd - I'll be in LA in a week and a half, so you can see it in person if you would like. I can also drop it off to DKJ in the diamond district while I'm there, if that would help. If it would be easier for you if we never met - that's ok, too.

Have you ever seen an ACA? They're flawless, really. It's eye clean, and it's a solid, middle of the road H color. Past that, it's just a really big, sparkly diamond! :)

ETA Actually, you get a pass on that, since you've done some stellar settings lately! You and Caysie have been setting up a storm!
 
Donna has a gorgeous pair of ACA studs and tennis bracelet! So I think she's happy with ACAs! Yours is just so perfect. There couldn't be a better one, as far as I am concerned (we like the same measurements! lol!). I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it. I can't wait to see what your next project is!
 
Perhaps we can meet at DKJ's office/store. I looked on his Instagram this morning and there is a setting I like. Yes, as DS stated, I have ACA studs and bracelet. Very happy with them! I need to get my kids to school and I am off to a meeting. I will contact you later.

Then that would be quite the collection! :)

I've decided that my new opal would look awesome in my Merry setting. Just absolutely gorgeous. Once I pictured it, I couldn't un-see it. So that's where it's going. I feel as tho the opal would be a better 'fit' for that setting, visually, than my ACA, which needs to be more the star of the show with less competition around her.

For diamonds, I've decided to go up in size, and to change shape. I will stay with WF if I can - even for a stone that isn't an ACA; they're a wonderful company to work with.
 
For anyone who's interested in my ACA, I just want to let everyone know that I'm not interested in offers. My price is fixed and if I don't sell it, I'm happy to re-set it. I think 15% off an ACA is a great deal, so no low-ball negotiations, pls.

Thanks, @Bonfire! I fell in love with that opal the moment I saw it. I tried to talk myself into something cheaper - but it just wouldn't leave me alone. In the end, I just said "You're never gonna forget this stone - you will regret it if you don't buy it - THOSE are the stones you should be buying." So I did. :)

Believe it or not, I am interested in an opal, too, and that is my favorite site!!!! Your stone is magnificent! It will be even more so in Merry!:love:

I can believe that! And yes, that site is awesome, and Justin and his wife, Ruth, are super nice.

I really do feel Merry is the right setting for my opal. But there's no point having 2 identical settings, so - as soon as I saw the opal - I knew the 3.4 would be looking for a new home. Things sort of extrapolated from there, and now she is indeed looking for a new home! :)
 
Wanted to come back to add - I just checked what I paid for the ring. It was, in fact, $53,876. So selling for $45 represents a 16.5% discount.

Wanted to let folks know that I've decided not to proceed with this. My 3.4ct ACA is a perfect stone of a beautiful size, and stones of this color/clarity/size on WF are virtually non-existent.

So I'm going to hang onto it and see where I can go from here.

Sorry to those I've mucked around. :(
 
I think it is a very wise decision to hold on to it for now! You have there a HOT HOT HOT stone. :love::love::love:
 
Yes, I too would think long and hard about letting go of that stone. You can always reset it in another ring if you want to take it out of the Merry setting.
 
I've realized that I do want something larger. And I definitely want a different shape. But it would have to be warmer and - while I'm fine with warm stones - I don't want 'warm' to be my only option, as I enjoy crisp, white diamonds a lot, and I need them to match necklaces and earrings and bracelets etc. So my only solution, as I see it, is to keep the whiter stones I have, and aim for something larger and warmer as well.
