3.4ct VS1 ACA

Wow, a 4 carat ACA solitaire! It's going to be amazing :appl:

@mrs-b

Very excited for you! A 4 ct ACA will be primo :love:

WOW!!...:oA 4ct ACA...:love::clap:

Amazing turn of events @mrs-b!!! 4ct ACA!!!!! :eek2::love: Can't wait to see it!

To be honest, I'm kind of embarrassed that it took me so long to get to this point, and that I didn't know my own mind sooner and more clearly. But I'm VERY happy with the decisions I've made now, and completely content with the paths I've decided *not* to pursue - and I think that's the best indication that I'm on the right track.

Oh my goodness, a 4ct ACA will be mindblowing!! Congratulations on your decision, I simply cannot wait to see it!! :love:

Wow @mrs-b a 4ct ACA is going to be a sparkle bomb. How fantastically exciting! Can’t wait to see the final glorious ring :appl:

Thanks ladies :)

A 4-ct ACA :love: I can’t even imagine how beautiful that is going to be! Congrats @mrs-b :appl:

Upgrading to a 4ct ACA was a great move on your part. I can not wait to see that baby on your finger. :cool2:

Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about your 10 projects with DKJ. :Up_to_something2:

@mrs-b congrats on your soon-to-be upgrade! I think that you will be very happy with a 4ct + ACA, I mean what a dream that is!

However, and please forgive me if this is too forward, but I would challenge your solitaire idea. I am not sure if you will be happy with a solitaire and I think that you will soon be dreaming of something else, something more. I would recommend revisiting the three stone idea, even a three stone and a halo! Like this one from VC: https://www.victorcanera.com/rings/engagement/round-tri-halo-trilogy
I am not sure if you will ever be happy unless you have a full coverage and perhaps it is the time to go for it. But this is just my opinion, do what you think will make you happy!

I can't wait to see what WF cuts for you!!! OMG the 3.4 H VS1 is going back into WF inventory?! :shock:

@SimoneDi -

Hallo! Nice to see your 'face'. :)

I see what you're saying, and would have agreed with you a few years ago. But I sort of fell into the solitaire-lovers group when I got my first large diamond a few years ago now. Since then, I've always loved the casual feel of them and - so long as I have one large enough - would prefer a soli to a three stone. I think they match better with plain wedders, and I like the way the arms sweep up to the stone; it's just a very elegant look.

But you're DEFINITELY right, in that I love 3-stones. After my current earring re-set is done, I will have 2 spare .68ct stones, and this will probably be my 60th birthday gift in a couple of years, when DH buys me a new center stone to go with them. That combo will become a 3-stone. I will be like R&G 's little sister: R&G had a 5 ct soli and a 1.25 / 2.5 / 1.25 3 stone. I'll have a 4 ct soli, and a .68 / 1.7 / .68 3-stone. This will work perfectly for me.

The projects DKJ are currently doing for me are;

1 & 2) I'm getting 2 pairs of custom made hoop earrings
3) re-setting pearl and diamond drops
4) re-setting diamond pear shaped halo pendant
5) re-making cluster earrings with larger stones (going from 3.12ctw to 4.6ctw)
6) diamond studs for my niece
7) new opal into Merry setting
8 ) new WF stone into plain soli setting
9) ACA 2 pt jackets for my cushion studs (I buckled and decided to have them *really* made to fit)
10 and 11) I'm splitting a yellow gold eternity I have, which is made with exceptional diamonds, and doing one yellow gold and one rose gold anni ring, using half the diamonds in each
12) Diamond brooch

And that will be it for me!

@CareBear -

The H VS1 is a KILLER stone. It's very white for an AGS H. I had an email from Brittany a while back; I think there have been only 2 stones in that size range (3.4 - 3.49) and with those specs that WF has ever cut. Ever.

Get your check books out, ladies! If I didn't have 'the fingers that ate Cleveland', size-wise - I'd be keeping this beauty in a heartbeat!

Congrats @mrs-b
Your 4ct ACA will be gorgeous. How do you plan to set it?

Who is R&G? Her 3-stone is ginormous! Can't imagine how big 5ctw would be, my 3.27 ctw 3-stone covers my size 4.5 finger, and we had to taper the side stones to get it yo fit.

Popping in a little late to the party here! Sounds like you have everything already figured out @mrs-b! Just thought I'd give you a heads up that I could potentially trade in my 4.7ct ACA in the future if I ever find a suitable larger replacement if you were in no rush...;))

Hi @m-2-b :)

Depending on when you trade it, I may well trade the stone I'm getting up to your 4.7. Having *just* done a trade up, I wouldn't be ready to do another one for another year. My other alternative is to wait 2 years then kick in the last chunk of money, and go up to an H color, which is where I'm more comfortable. After a certain point, I care more about the color than the size, and I have as yet to see how much this new I colored stone bothers me - if at all.

Is yours a high I, a middle I, or a low I? Did anyone from WF ever give you an opinion on that? And compared to what scale - GIA or AGS? A while back I had an AGS stone which was considerably warmer than my GIA stone, which was color graded one grade lower. So the AGS color grading scale worries me a little. My 3.4 AGS H colored diamond, however, is very white. So it seems somewhat to be the luck of the draw.

My ideal stone is a 4.5ct H VS. But I know I'm talking around 100k for that, and I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a dot on my finger. So where I'm going with this trade might be where I stay. Ideally, I'd like to do a plain solitaire, but the tint might force me into halos and all that stuff. I can see myself compromising on a 4ct H VS stone. We'll see.....

Hi @cflutist :)

I believe R&G is no longer on PS, and may have had her profile deleted. Her soli was a Cartier 5ct stone with tapered baguettes, and her 5ct 3-stone was a Tiffany - both in platinum. a-MAZ-ing rings! I suspect @diamondseeker2006 remembers her rings; they were stratospheric.

I have no idea how I'll set this new diamond. Solitaire initially, till I work out to what extent the color bothers me. Then possibly in a setting I have percolating in the back of my mind, which will resemble a daffodil.

Or a plain bezel, when trying to get the daffodil design right sends me out of my ever-loving mind. This is entirely likely.

Bob Hoskins (who was the head gemologist at WF before he retired and has helped me out several times before) examined my current stone in person for me. He clearly told me it was a high I on the AGS scale, so closer to an H color. In person, I can tell there is a difference in the color from my previous 4.5ct I ACA. Eventually, I would like to get over the 5ct mark in the future so I'm waiting for Boom to trade in her 5.5+ct ACA honker, LOL! BTW, my last 4.5ct ACA was bought immediately upon me trading it in so I don't think my current 4.7 ct I VS-1 ACA will last in their inventory for long either. The cost of ACA stones of this large size/high clarity jumps exponentially but there is no turning back for me now...

It's just gone into production. I can hardly stand myself.

Crossing my fingers that it's a high I, and white enough that I won't want to change it!

Can't wait to see your new ACA--what specs are they guaranteeing for you?

4.0 - 4.07 I VS2.

Which is awesome.

In the future, I'd like to get to a 4.5 ct H VS - but I reach a place where I have ethical constraints. In fact, I might already be there.

We'll see. :)

I know this isn't really relevant to this forum - but I had to tell SOMEBODY......

My ACA is on its way to AGS for grading!

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Hi @bright ice and @ac117 :wavey:

I'm going to the JCK in June and told them that I REALLY want to wear it! So I asked if they could have it ready with enough time for me to send it off to DKJ for setting.

Looks like we're gonna make it! I don't have the specs on it yet but - when I do - I'll post them here.

:kiss2:So so fast! Can’t wait to hear

it will probably be about a week until it comes back to WF from AGS, so I need to cool my jets!

Spool up your engines all you want mrs-b, why contain it?! Woohoo!!:dance:
