For Sale 3.78ct Jeff White Vibrant Yellow Asscher Sapphire

With DEEP regret, I think I've largely given up on this idea. It's been 3 days (some on the weekend, and some Monday to Friday) now since I heard, once, from the seller, so I'm guessing she's changed her mind or decided to go a different route. Entirely her right, of course, and it's a stunning gem. I wish I'd heard back from her, tho.

If she changes her mind or gets back to me, I'll happily pick the process back up. But I'm trying to manage my own expectations here and don't want to be needlessly disappointed. So I think it makes most sense to assume at this point that it won't be proceeding.

Mrs-b, I wouldn’t give up just yet... As a busy and non techy person, I can say that going a couple days without even checking my email is not unusual for me at all. Some days it will be noon and I realize I haven’t checked my cell phone yet (or had breakfast, but that’s another issue lol). My husband is very much like you or maybe more extreme - an hour or two after sending an email and he is ready to follow up with a phone call, and if no answer received to the voicemail by the end of the business day he wants to drive over there! So I understand the feeling, but try to be patient. :))

I don’t know endless_summer as a PSer at all, but it seems she is not currently posting on this site as much as some of us are, so perhaps she’s not as frequently plugged in.

I hope you hear back soon!

Hi @blingbunny10 :))

I completely hear what you're saying, and agree with you re not checking email often. But if you'd already made contact with someone who was trying to buy a $3800 gem from you, and suggested the 2 of you discuss how to proceed, I'm guessing you'd be more likely to check. In all the ways that matter, others saying this seller was prompt with responses during other transaction is rather more discouraging than encouraging; I've been running all the reasons I might not have heard back through my head and am feeling rather flat. It's terribly nice of you to encourage me to hang in there, tho, and I appreciate it.

Anyway, either way, we'll see how it goes, and, while I'm not giving up yet, and am still open to the idea down the track if there's some sort of hold up at the moment, I'm just not optimistic.

www - wonder if the two may be very close in colour & it might be free to ask.

I do not quite know what to think about these prices.
the one you've linked isn't heated, which might explain the price difference?
mrs.b, for what it's worth I've been following this thread as well, rooting for you to get your stone!

@simurgh I have not looked for yellow sapphire recently to know prices, but do not expect this color at all.

I understand the uncertainty would be a bit excruciating. But when traveling for work, you often cover work issues arrising from your normal responsibilities at home, work you were sent to the location to do (this is often a lot all by itself as you are there for as little time as managable, so inevitably the scheduling is overly optimistic) and then social hob-nobbing. Aka just when you thought you could go home you realize thst tonight is going to end at 10 pm again.

My work hours often balloon out to the point where if it is not on fire I ignore it. I have lost count of the number of famous cities I have gone to and never even set foot in the center of the city or seen a single tourist sight. You would think things would be getting better now as I have a young daughter who travels with me (as well as a babysitter) that I have to come home to at night. But instead my tavel snapps include pictures like my daughter sleeping in bread baskets with a napkin draped over her because mummy worked so late that the resteraunt had to improvise a bed for her.

Give her some time. At the end of the day it is just a ring, we have all been there where we are so excited we are on tenter-hooks waiting for it . But she probably just isnt checking her private messages and realistically does not have the wherewithal to process it immediately. And cant reasonably wrap up the transaction till she is back anyway.

Hi @qubitasaurus -

I'm pretty familiar with the work / traveling lifestyle - having lived it for the last 30 years. I think 5 days is excessive, tho, especially if someone is trying to give you money. i think she's gone, but we'll see.

As far as giving her some time goes, I have no option on that, because - seriously - what's my alternative? I can't force her to respond. If she gets back to me, she gets back to me, and if she doesn't, she doesn't. My guess at this point, tho, is that she won't.

For anyone who is interested in how this turned out, I did finally hear back from the seller. By that time, however, I had been chatting to Jeff White, who has a perfect piece of rough for me. :)

This is going to take a little time as I really wasn't anticipating this change in direction, but it's worked out brilliantly. The rough Jeff has should cut to something larger than the asscher I was hoping to originally buy, is of roughly the same color, and will be ever-so-slightly lower in price! I'm going with a cushion cut, and can apparently expect something in the 8.5 x 8.5mm range. So that's awesome! Since it will be a cushion, I'm going to use the cushion cut diamonds in my current yellow sapphire 3 stone as sides, which will give it a bunch of oomph and a roughly 19mm spread across my finger.

I have a few personal hurdles to overcome first (unexpected health issues) but then it's full steam ahead and I expect to have this on my finger for Christmas. :) In the meantime, I'll wear the yellow sapphire 3 stone I have proudly, knowing it's like a deposit on an even more beautiful ring to come!

Health-wise, I've had a pretty rough trot of it lately. So it's just lovely that something has worked out even better than I had hoped. Makes a very nice change. :))

Here's to your health returning quickly! And so happy to hear things turned out even better, gem wise.

@mrs-b I'm sorry to hear of your health issues, I hope they are resolved quickly!

I can't wait to see what you do with your new yellow. It's lovely when projects go better than expected! Jeff is a darling and this cushion sounds glorious :kiss2:

Well, isn’t that a wonderful update? Great news! Best of luck. Sounds like you will get exactly what you want this way. And using the side stones sounds perfect. Hope you are in better health soon!

Hope your health issues are soon behind you and glad everything worked out so your project can go forward. It's always fun to have something to look forward to!

Wishing you well mrs-b, and looking forward to seeing your new Jeff White yellow sapphire cushion (sounds ideal for your plans)!
