<3 my E-ring - What kind of band??

I got engaged about a month ago on a trip to Portugal in the most beautiful place there! It was a mush of emotions, and I still look at my ring a million and one times a day!

I'm on the quest to figure out what kind of band will look best with this, any suggestions/ photos? I really don't like contour bands, and ideally would like a channel set with diamonds matching the size of the sidestones on my ring. But there will be spacing...
What are everyone's thoughts about wedding bands HAVING to match up/align to the E-ring?

Does anyone here not have a "set" of an e-ring and a wedding band? As in, non-matching? please share photos!

What I beautiful ring!!!!
I would let that shine, pair it with just an engraved band.

Eta no you do NOT have to have a contour band. Gaps are fine.

Congratulations! Beautiful engagement pic & beautiful ring!

I would say to go with whatever you want, match or not, fitted or not. My rings are completely un-matchy & I love them & how quirky they are :))

Thank you!
I think I also like the look of a plain, wider platinum band to wear with it, i feel like the sparklies on a channel set (even though I like the channel), would compete with this ring.

I do think a plain band is a really good idea. Maybe plain with a twist.

I tried it on with a channel set ring I have here at home, I like it, but I don't know if it competes too much!

I second the plain band (really love that engraved one!). Or if you really want diamonds, something small, maybe bead set. I agree that the channel band you have is competing with your very lovely, classic ering.

What is a bead set? I am unfamiliar! I am concerned with engraved settings only because i am almost certain it will cause unwanted heavy wear to the platinum of my e-ring!

Nevermind! I just googled! Yes, that's pretty too- but won't the diamonds compete there as well? :?:

Wow, that is beautiful!

I think you need a 2mm band whether plain or with little diamonds. The channel set band competes because it is too wide. I have a 2mm Tiffany Legacy band and something like that would work.

Your ring is beautiful! I suggest going to Tiffany's or somewhere that has a lot of different bands and trying a bunch on to see what you think looks best.

I completely agree that 2mm is the right size. Gorgeous ering!

What an absolutely stunning ring :) I think a plain band would look best, to make the engagement ring stand out. But, extra sparkle is hard to resist... the band you paired with it I think competes a little bit too much, what about a thinner channel set band?

Oh... and I LOVE gaps between the e-ring and wedding band, so I definitely think there is no need for a contour band!

Oh man, Niel, I love love love that band. I want one in platinum and yellow gold. It is fabulous. Might be a little too much at 3mm for OP's
ring though.

Sofibebe, I would go with a narrow micro pave band if you would like to add just a bit more sparkle. You can find from 1.5 mm to 2mm pretty easily. I think that would look great.

Thanks all for your suggestions!!, I love all of the posted suggestions!
Neil's band is enchanting!

Should I be concerned about any specific bands scratching up my platinum e-ring? I know some people use a buffer band in between, but that would be so visible in this case bc of my gaps! Love the idea of micro pave as well, but i fear the little sparklers will scratch and nick up my ring!

Thank you! I'm very much in love with it too <3
Sparkle is ALWAYS hard to resist!

If you get a tiny micropave band, many od them have smooth sides so that wont be a problem. I wear a 2.4 ct platinum eternity with my ring and I have a spacer band. The girdle of the stones hang over a bit. Check out Facets collection, their smallest shared prong eternity and look at the sides in comparison with their larger bands. You will see the difference. Leon makes a teeny micro pave band (micropave.com) . Brian Gavin diamonds makes a couple small bezel ands that would look nice, and you can get some great small bands at ID jewelry.com. They are great to work with as well. I love their prices as well. I personally have a Facets eternity and a round and baguette band from ID jewelry. Theround and baguette band is small and dainty and quite a ew of us here have one of those. It would be a good choice for you too if you like it.

I tried to read over it and may have missed it, but what are the specs of this stone?? and finger size?

+1!

Whatever you do, make your wedding band understated. Your ering is perfection; imo, anything blingy, large, or complicated for a wedding band will just end up taking away from its beauty.

Oh, and that photo is adorable - congratulations!

I would do a 1.5-2mm pave or plain band. I love that look with a 3 stone ring!

Aww, congrats, your ring is gorgeous!!

I think a thin, plain metal band would look great!

I agree with others regarding the width of this particular channel set band. It competes with your e-ring, but I think that has more to do with the width of the band. Try something a little thinner and daintier. And if you're concerned about the wedding band scratching your e-ring, you can always get a tiny spacer band. A lot of PS'ers get them from etsy, and they're reasonably-priced.
As for having the space b/w your e-ring and band, it will look nice. I, personally, am a fan of the little space between the 2 rings rather than having more of a "matchy" or "perfectly fitted/aligned" set.

Here are some pics of my mismatched set with a gap... which I cannot wear together until September :x
