Alright folks, as our 10 year anniversary approaches next month I am itching to get started on planning my anniversary ring, and I know what I want!

Just, you know, I can't do both at once.

I'm torn between two very different but equally loved styles - a classic solitaire in a 6-8 prong setting with a 4-4.5 carat keystone, probably MRB but I do love the transitional style, especially the one by Jon at DG, OR a 3 stone with an approximately 8.5mm asscher (carat is hard to judge for asscher cuts, hence the switch of metrics), with step cut sapphire trapezoids and an emerald halo?

My finger is a size 4, and I have two CZ rings I purchased to give me an idea of what both would look like size wise.
Solitaire is a 3.8 ct, 10mm RB, and the three stone is an 8mm assher with a halo around the center and the two small step cut trapezoids.

Alright, posted this from my phone, going to switch to my computer to post my mock up of what I'm envisioning for the 3 stone.

What’s your current engagement ring? Will the 10 yr anniversary ring be an additional ring?

My current engagement ring is a 2.7 carat OEC in a halo, this will be an additional ring to swap out with.

Personally, I would go for the solitaire, since you already have one 8.5ish-mm stone (that’s my best guess for the 2.7OEC) in a halo.

I’m into coloured stones so would go for option 2. BUT (curve ball) I think option one looks better on your finger - it suits you so well.

The solitaire looks lovely on you - they both do, but that one gets my vote!

I love a solitaire!

Edited to correct spelling.

4ct solitaire- looks gorgeous on you and so classic! That’s my ultimate engagement ring size and style and I’d love to see you go for it! I honestly like halos on larger colored stones but for a diamond a solitaire if that size speaks for itself!

Soli for sure! Ive gone back to one after years with a halo. Just seems classier on a larger stone

I vote Asscher solitaire. :)

I voted solitaire, I think it’s more versatile, and you can always add a pop of colour with an eternity/half eternity band.

Solitaire! Classic every time for me!

I voted solitaire! Can we see a picture of your current e-ring?

Both rings look beautiful on you, and I am drawn to rings with a little detail...but in this case my vote is for the 4+ carat solitaire, I just think a diamond that size in a solitaire is something special.

casting my vote for the stunning solitaire! congratulations on your anniversary:kiss2:

Always love a solitaire! But you should do what makes your heart sing ❤️

I love a solitaire... if you're not going to go with the halo around the asscher, then I'm afraid you'll be underwhelmed with the size compared to the larger solitaire. Go with the soli... then do a "transformer wrap" for those days you wanna be extra. Best of both worlds. That's what I did. ;-)

Before I vote-does your current ring have a round halo? And if so, how many mm is the face with the halo?

Sure can! And since @purplesilk and @ecf8503 both voted for an asscher solitaire (Just for more options to consider!), I added in the 8mm solitaire CZ I bought that I decided was not big enough on its own, which is where the idea for the 3 stone halo came from.
Top left finger: 2.7ct OEC with halo, 9.1mm RB (these are the two main rings I switch between right now), 8mm asscher solitaire, 10mm RB solitaire, and the 8mm asscher 3 stone halo on the middle finger.
I've added so much color to my life this last year, from my crazy bright legging collection to dying my hair purple, and I'm LOVING it, which is where my desire for a colorful ring is coming from (as well as the romantic nature of the 3 stone meaning ), but there is also something just special about a honkin' rock shining bright as the center star on your finger. I'll get both eventually, but it seems the solitaire is the clear winner by popular vote at the moment.
Edit: To add the text because typing from my phone is the worst.

Another vote for the solitaire.
I’m a sucker for them.
So resonant in a big stone.
Looks great on your hand!

Ok, now that I know that you have already have two round stones, I voted for the asscher three stone :)

Also, I love your oec halo setting-can I ask who created it?

Aw, thank you so much! I love it too. ^_^ David Klass was kind enough to create it for me.

Congrats on 10 years!

If this is an additional ring, I’d go with the 3 stone asscher so you can wear it as a LHR and RHR.

I wouldn’t decline a Classic solitaire beauty of that carat weight but that 3-stone Asscher is beautifully charismatic  I hence know your dilemma.
I voted the latter since your E-Ring is round.

I didn't know you had a large solitaire when I voted...in that case, I think getting a different shape would be a nice addition to your collection.

Yes me too - I didn’t realize you already had a large solitaire ring!
