That little sneak! He had me completely and utterly fooled. He has three interviews next week and said he wanted to spend the day out since his week was going to be so stressful. As we were leaving I went to look at the sapphire and he said "oh, I hid it so you won''t know when I get the ring done"

Well of course I was sad but he had me so fooled I let it go. We went out to lunch and I was surprised because he wanted to get two sides (which he never does). But once again I let it go...

Anyway, so we went to the art museum, and he was a little miffed that it was crowded...I had a vague idea that MAYBE something was going on but I just let it go to enjoy the day. I had been really exhausted all day and sort of wanted to go home...but it was beautiful out and he insisted we go to the river and walk. So we got there, and he did the little speech bit (no kneeing, there was broken glass!)....and gave me the ring!

I''m still a little in shock--it''s been eight years and we''ve been together since we were thirteen. Ahhhh!

The ring is GORGEOUS. I am so impressed with him!!!!!!

oh--and I forgot the best part--we have reservations tonight at the best restaurant in the city which we went to once and both adore. it''s going to be fantastic!

thank you! he''s fussing with the camera now, so should be able to put some pics up! I am so happy...but soooooo tired. We walked a really long way and neither of us slept well last night. Whew! My mother is having fits, must call my dad, etc, etc...

hehe kalegih....actually, we've been to both Fountain (its in the 4 Seasons) and Le Bec Fin when he was a restaurant critic, and I like Fountain better than Le Bec, so we are going there!

It's plat 900 (plat/iridium) with a "tacori-style" shank and pave about 1/2 down the sides with milgrain. The pics really don't do the sapphire justice--it's a very, very deep 1.5 nat'l Ceylon from Cherrypicked. He had the poor jeweler re-set it *three times* to get it low enough bc he knows I am not good with high settings!
