I am having a hard time deciding between...

1) Graduated Diamond Ring in 14k White Gold (5/8 ct. tw.) (http://www.bluenile.com/belle-diamond-14k-white-gold-ring_25682?pid=AB03210601&ring_size=4)

or

2) U-Prong Seven-Stone Diamond Ring in 14k White Gold (1/2 ct. tw.) (http://www.bluenile.com/seven-stone-diamond-ring-14k-gold_37342?pid=AB30200601&ring_size=4)

The quality of the stones is, I/SI2/Good

I see that the individual stone is larger in U-Prong, but since the quality of the stones is not that good, I feel that #1 may be more sparkly just because there is a larger amount of diamonds in total.

Which one do you recommend?

Have you considered going with a vendor that uses stones better than SI2? Have you made sure
That the stones will be eye clean? I like the look of the first setting but I think most people prefer
The u prong.

Thanks for your advice. It would be great if I can go better than SI2 but I want to stay within the range of 1000. I am not able to see if the stones will be eye-clean, even though I believe that Bluenile is pretty generous on their return policy.

I like the first setting, too. I also wonder since individual stones will be smaller the inclusions will be less visible. I don't understand the reason why the graduated one comes in a paper box, whereas 7-stone one comes in a lacquered wooden box...

If you are looking for sparkly and lively, I honestly don't think I-SI2 stones will do the trick for you.

As another option within your budget, here's an 18kt White Gold half-eternity from Brian Gavin Diamonds priced at $1,050, made in-house and set with BGD's F/G VS Signature diamond melee:

(Note: I would recommend BDG's 7-stone shared prong band as it closely resembles the design of the two BN bands you posted, but it comes in at $1,560, 50% over your budget - if you're able to stretch it at all, though I'd go with BGD's 7-stone for sure: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/w...tone-shared-prong-band-18k-white-gold-5391w18)

I would never recommend buying a band with low quality diamonds. It is always worth it to wait, save more money, and buy quality.

Thanks for looking for the alternatives. I see - I was thinking that since the stones are small the quality won't matter much... but it seems it does.

What do you think about this? If you have a choice between this and the five stone, which one gives more sparkle? I don't really care whether the diamonds are lined up all around. Another question is that I love RG and it goes well with my skin, but for this kind of ring, should I opt for WG?

I think DS is right- save up for better quality stones. ONce you make the purchase, you have to live with the stones - it may be worth it to wait just a bit longer and get a better product.

I like the link Marymm put - that's a nice 1/2 carat band and it comes in RG!

I also like your bezelled eternity option - I think there was a recent thread of someone comparing this particular band with a few others that looked similar and this was a lower set ring.

If it were me, I'd go for a BGD/WF/GOG created ring vs BN. I'd just prefer the better stones...

OP - I am not sure to which five-stone you are comparing the BGD 18kt rose gold bezel band so I cannot advise you there. I will say that if you like rose gold, unless you are looking to wear this band with another ring as a set, there is no reason not to go with rose gold if that is your first choice. BGD's rose gold is a very pretty pink. Although I do not own one, the bezel band has smaller stones (29 x 0.015ct) so the overall effect would be more of a shimmer and flash - in contrast the BGD half-eternity I linked to above (which also comes in rose gold) has fewer and larger stones so it will be noticeably livelier (I believe it is 10 stones x 0.05ct).

It may be worth your while to go to a Tiffany's or similar jewelry store to try on different diamond bands so you can gauge with your own eyes the effect of different styles and diamond sizes.

Thanks... I agree that I should pay more attention to the quality of the stones.
Has anyone tried James Allen's rings?
I think this ons is pretty and they do use better stones but there is no information about their cut.
I contacted the store but they told me that they do not evaluate these stones that way...
What is your thought on this?
I do not mind that the stones are not going all the way around.
The more brilliance on top is better for me :)
