.5 ct emerald cut worth it?

I keep going back and forth between rings...mostly because I like everything it seems...

I love this ring because it has the pave and halo that I love (currently

) but would would you be able to see all the cool things that emerald cuts have to offer in a stone that size? The steps, etc.

Anyone have any pics of .5ct emerald cuts? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Iv seen 2 or 3 .5ct EC''s that iv really liked and a dozen or so that were total dogs all in one piece of jewelery so nice ones are out there but its a hunt too find them. (necklace with in line and drop down EC didn''t count them but was around 14-16 total in it.)

Thanks strm for the reply. Should I look for another setting? Cushions are my first love, but i do like the effect of the glassy emerald amongst the pave, a la tberube. Ah le sigh...this is hard!!! I need to start peddling for cash, or a get rich quick scheme!!!

Sunny what''s your TOTAL ring budget for setting and stone. And what is your ideal ring for that money?

Total ring budget...I''m thinking up to $3000. And then it would be pretty much divided equally between stone and setting. Ideal ring...cushion or emerald cut .5 ct, halo, pave, white gold. Am I being totally delusional in my thinking? I need help.

I have two .5ct ECs as side stones on my e-ring, and they are very beautiful and make nice fire, and I can really see the steps clearly when I look at it and get lost it their depths... so don''t worry about .5 being too small to see the details! Just get a really well cut stone that is totally eye clean and it will look gorgeous!
