Hi all!

I need help in getting an anniversary ring and I haven't really found what I'm looking for - all because I have a tricky engagement ring to match - my engagement ring is pictured below - the light blue background one.

I don't want the typical anniversary band with stones all around, instead I'd like bigger stones, and because I don't have a lot of money, just 5. What do you think of a 5 diamond ring like this to match? - pic below - view from front mostly.
I like the u-prong look from the side. I like the band under the u-prongs (which you can barely see in this picture). I think this will match my engagement ring nicely, right?

Another ring to help see the side view example is also picture below, but this one is vintage and the stones are too small. But maybe you get the idea of what part of my engagement ring I'm trying to match.

Any opinions on this 5 diamond ring idea for my engagement ring? I'm open to better ideas :twirl:
My engagement diamond is E and VS1 so what color and clarity stones should I get for the 5 stones? What stones can I get away with if I have to go cheaper because of my budget?
My engagement diamond is just under 1 carat, so for 5 diamonds, I was thinking about 0.75 carat total? Just enough to either wear alone of with my engagement ring?

My engagement ring is platinum - where do I find this platinum 5 stone band?? Do I buy the stones separate. I have a tight budget.

I think both your engagement ring and the wedding ring you are considering are lovely. I would worry however about the exposed girdles on the wedding ring being in contact with the pave on the side of the engagement ring. I think you will need either a spacer or a wedding ring where the sides are solid metal (e.g., with channel set stones), but even then you may have some scratching issues from the pave on the e-ring.

What is your budget? The consensus around here is that IDJewelry has some of the best prices on diamond bands and eternities.

You will have to have a lower set band than that to wear with your e-ring. If it is not set super low, you will have to wear a plain thin band between the two rings to keep the diamonds from this band from ruining your e-ring.

High quality and set low: http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-bands/five-stone-shared-prong-diamond-wedding-band-817.htm

Memoire and Tiffany have the lowest set bands I know of, but they are pretty pricey. Pearlmans has a Pricescope discount, though, so you can order Memoire from them for a reasonable price. They just have a few samples on their site, but you can call for a quote on the size you want in the petite prong bands. Be sure to tell them you are from PS.

I am going to say, though, that I think a 7 stone band at .75 is going to be more proportional to your engagement ring diamond. I have the Memoire 7 stone band at .75 and that is the largest I would wear with my 1.5 ct. diamond. I may be able to post pictures if it would help.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a small platinum wedding band already - (It was my temp ring until this one with the stones), and I could wear that in between the e-ring and the anniversary ring.

Do you think I should get rid of the pave on the e-ring? I am not necessarily attached to that part of my e-ring?

Hi. My budget, I think, is about $3000 total.

I have a thin wedding band I could use in between - that's a good idea so to not hurt the stones.
My husband likes the smaller stone look too. If you would post your pictures that would help a lot.

Here is a picture of the 7 stone .75 ct. Memoire band with a 1.6 ct. diamond.

I think you should either get a much smaller cttw. diamond band to wear with your solitaire or get a substantail 5 stone to wear on its own either on your right hand or when you don't want to wear your e-ring. YOu can't have it all and I don't think a ring like you posted will look good with yur solitaire -- it will detract not enhance -- and it will likely damage the e-ring mount.

I have a 5 stone ring that has five 0.19 diamonds that I wear with my 0.92 oval. My oval is E VS2 and the diamonds in my anniversary band are F-G SI 1-SI-2. I cannot see a color difference and they match nicely. I also think the proportion between the 2 rings are good, but my oval has a rather large spread at 8.12 x 5.3. My five stone is bar set so I wear a spacer. I really need to work on posting pictures. Anyway, I'm just trying to give you an idea regarding proportions and color difference.

wow- that looks really nice. Just the right size. Do you think then for my slightly less than 1 ct engagement ring that I would get a 0.5 ct. Memoire?

I'm starting to agree. I just told my husband that I need a right hand ring and it, of course, should be a good size, and my husband rolled his eyes.

Or get a smaller presence match to the e-band

Yes, this is good to know. If you can post, I'd love to see how it looks!
