a 5 stone setting under 2500?

Try contacting Poppyseed on DB. She works with a company called Amcor to do custom, and may also have other connections. She has a three stone design already that is amazeballs for like $350 in gold, so I bet she can make a five stone version for not much more. Worth a contact.

In my opinion if you cannot get the temporary setting for well under $1000... like for me it would be $750 tops and even then only if it was a design as nice as the incredible solitaire in the link I posted... then pony up the extra $500 to get it done right so you might actually like it. I have cheaped out on mounts in the past. It never works out. It won't last five years if you already have something else in mind now.

Ive considered it but i really dont want to settle for something that isnt exactly what i want.

Yes, that is the mount I love too and will likely buy one day if I can get the stones! I hope she can make a 5 stone version. Her stuff is very well priced and nice looking.

Of she cant then I'll probably go with diamond zone. My only problem was I asked for examples of a simple cad/cast ring they did and they seemed reluctant to provide any photos. Still having gorge. Any yet.

I havent heard back yet if they could set the center stone high than the remaining stones or not. So that will influence my decision as well

I think i might agree with you. I was looking at his settings and they seem to need a little more finishing. What do you think of that 3 stone I posted with the sapphire in it? In my head ive been imaging the ring with baskets like that and a cathedral shank, so it looks exactly like i was going for.

I understand him trying to recreate other peoples rings on here. Hes trying to run a business, and im sure people come to them with a request, and its his job to deliver. I think it bothers me more when people completely copy someone elses ring, not that a designer is willng to create it. Hes just trying to make a name fore himself, its the person wearing the ring thats copying, i guess. but thats not really the point of this topic haha

He quoted me 700 for the setting, and I'd have to pay like 20 in insured shipping to get my stones there. Which would put my setting plus diamonds at about 1820, which is the same as IDJ quoted me for a setting I wasn't in love with, and 500 or so less than bgd.

I second this suggestion. I got a my 5-stone trellis-style setting (14k RG) from her and she was able to have it fit all my stones (4.3mm/4.5mm/4.8mm/4.5mm/4.3mm/). Plus, the center stone does sit slightly above the side stones. Have attached a picture showing the ring's profile.

Niel - I have a solitaire from Poppysead and it is well made. I don't think you can go wrong with her, mydiamondzone or David Klass. I actually stopped by David's shop a few weeks ago while I was in LA. The work looked good to me.
