in general, is there truly a visible difference between E, F or G? it probably depends on each stone, but can any pricescopers tell the difference??? if so, i''m going with higher color (E) and smaller carat. if not, i''m leaning toward bigger rock and lower color (G).

Run a search on color preference...this is very often discussed.

E is colorless and G is near colorless. So there is some difference yes.

But those with non-sensitive to color eyes cannot probably see a difference.

My husband has an E and I had a G that we saw no difference in besides cut quality.

I would personally get a larger G than a smaller E...but that''s just me.

I just went looking at stones last week. I could barely see the difference between a D, E, and F when they were side by side. I could definitely tell the difference between the D and G side by side. My personal preference is for the G-H-I range, so I would get the lower color, slightly bigger stone.

I''d take a larger G over a smaller E as well. My old stone was a G and looked colorless to me and unless I was comparing it directly next to a D or E i could not see a hint of color in my stone.

My thoughts exactly! I own a D and a G...I''d take the larger G over the whiter D any day. Unless comparing them you can''t tell the difference
