A little sapphire cab

Well.
I just had a horrible jewelry mishap.
I was all ready to show you guys the beautiful bypass ring I made today with the sapphire and emerald.
I took it out to the garage to the buffing wheel for one final polish.
The spinning wheel ripped the ring out of my hand and it went flying. I heard "clink clink clank".....and now I have no idea where it is. I got down on my hands and knees with a flashlight and found the loose sapphire under the SUV.
Of course it's night time, and the overhead light is not that bright.
So it's in the garage somewhere, probably bent, and who knows if the emerald is still in it.
I'll eventually find it......then it's back to the drawing board :(

As long as the gems are safe, you can always rework the ring! A drag for sure, but I've no doubt it'll work out in the end, and you'll have a beautifully handcrafted piece, as always. :)

I found the ring, and it was bent.
So I made a new ring, in a whole different style.
I was inspired by Etruscan design, and this is how it turned out. Sterling, of course.
I was playing with textures!

Stunning work and talent! They look so beautiful in their new homes. Congratulations on your new beautiful rings!

Please post pictures! Your work is so beautiful, I can’t wait to see how you showcase the turquoise!

Of course!
I will post pics in "Show me your turquoise jewelry"

There's a bunch of my turquoise jewelry in that thread already.

I love this, it is so well balanced and brings out the lovely emerald. Your work is really good!

Thanks @MMtwo !
I debated a long time about the design. Then at the last minute, I came up with something totally different from my original idea.
And soldering on a smaller piece is very tricky. With a handmade piece, it can be hard to get the details perfectly perfect.
I don't have all the fancy jewelers tools, I'm just winging it with a file and a plumber's torch.

@stracci2000 I can only imagine how far you could go with this, you really do have talent. Then to find out you are using such basic tools!

Thank you for the nice compliment.
But, yes, I'm over here making jewelry like a cavewoman! :)
I enjoy making jewelry from the ground up, so to speak.

Wow, love the new rings and the cabs! I really hope the shop remains open. I would be there every single day.
