I’ve only watched once
From memory I’ll never watch again
Super disturbing

Any movie you’ll never watch again because it was too upsetting?

Just thought of another
Boy in the striped pajamas

My husband and I went to see Braveheart when it first came out. The scene of the hangings in the cottage bothered me enough that I never watched this movie again. Even now I cringe remembering it. I was expecting our daughter at the time so maybe hormones factored into that.

Eww!

I'm surprised you watched it.
I'm curious how you came to watch it?

I don’t because my dh and I watched it over 25 years ago. But I will say i usually enjoy psychologically terrifying movies so this fits the bill.

Some psychologically horrifying movies I can recommend

“The Vanishing”. Dutch version not the remake

Original “IInvasion of the body snatchers”

“The Ring”

Absolutely agree. Any movie with extreme gore I cannot watch

Twelve Years A Slave as it is so depressing.

Also, I did not watch the whole film, just bits of it in the background without sound when I was doing things on the laptop, The Human Centipede, WTF???!!! :eek2:

DK :confused2:

Midnight Express.

@missy - I think you'd like, "House of Games".
Here's a short description, from which I've deleted spoilers.

House of Games is a 1987 American neo-noir film by David Mamet, his directorial debut. He also wrote the screenplay, based on a story he co-wrote with Jonathan Katz. The film's cast includes Lindsay Crouse, Joe Mantegna, Ricky Jay, and J. T. Walsh.

In the link below there are spoilers.
I'd much rather experience a film as the director intended ... by watching it.

I want to know nothing about a film before seeing it, except maybe someone who knows me saying it's a film I'd like.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. If I ever go to therapy this will be a top discussion item.

Life is Beautiful - an absolutely great movie which I will never watch again.

Thank you very much Kenny. I am going to see if it is available on cable and if it is I am going to watch it. I appreciate the recommendation

Never heard of the movie. I will take your rec and not look for it

The Exorcist

The Wall (Pink Floyd)
I walked out of the theater. I still despise Pink Floyd after all these years.

Tommy
Silence of the Lambs
A Clockwork Orange
Monsters Ball

@Lookinagain I never saw the Exorcist and never want to

Seven. It was about a serial killer who committed murders based on the seven deadly sins. It was really disturbing and knowing there were children in the movie theater watching it bothered me. We got in the car and I told my husband I will never watch this movie again.

Apocalypse Now
Straw Dogs

I have trouble with gore/horror/violence, so a lot of movies I just never watch for those reasons. But here are a few that have stuck with me over the years.

Requiem for a Dream
I Am Legend
Okja
Night of the Living Dead

I only saw the first movie in your list
Great movie but would not want to watch it again. Very depressing very heavy

Apocalypse Now
Straw Dogs

I couldn’t watch apocalypse now. I started it but couldn’t finish it

The Exorcist

I loved that movie but absolutely understand why some would not want to watch it

It was hard to watch. I had to cover my eyes during much of it

Also, Law Abiding Citizen and The Killer Inside Me.
Dreadful. I hate movies in which people are torturing other people.
Abductions also bother me a lot. Ugh.

Fatal Attraction

Powerful film! Once was enough for me!

The deer hunter. Sophie's choice.

I was crushed by the *preview* for Night of the Pencils. I am not such a fool to have watched it.

I spent a large portion of Johnny Got His Gun hiding behind my husband.

The deer hunter. Sophie's choice.

Watched both. Missed a lot of The Deer Hunter. (Violence)

Watched Sophie’s Choice more times than I can remember. Makes me cry every single time. What she went through. I also love Meryl Streep
