A question about the custom ring process

Hi all. I''m having a custom ring made and found out that its completed. I''m very excited to have my ring back in my possession after a few weeks but I haven''t received any pictures of my new completed custom ring.

My question for those that have had custom rings made: Is it customary for the vendor to send you a picture of the completed ring before you pay the balance of the job and they send the ring out to you? Thanks in advance!
