Since we are on PS, by style I of course am referring to your jewelry style

How would you describe your personal style and taste in jewelry?
Do you prefer the understated? vintage? modern? blinged out? bezel? prongs? pave? halos? RBs? cushions? (insert a bazillion other adjectives here) Does your collection have a cohesive theme?
Tell me all about your jewelry style, I''d love to hear from all the PS''ers who want to share.

I''ll go first, shall I?

All of them, all of them!!!

I love every style, shape, colour, size, I just love ''em all!

That said, the things I choose for myself do have a bit of a theme. I like smaller stones in simple settings. Solitaire things - ring, pendant, studs. Step cuts are my favourite, but I have a few nice RBs and I hanker after a really nice OMC. I think pear cuts are perfect for earrings and pendants and I love diamonds and blue sapphires in equal measure. I have a few things that I think of as ''blingier'' but they are still quite plain. Shared prong band, earring jackets, pendant with dbty, for example. I''m not crazy about owning pave, or elaborate settings, but I''m happy to drool over them and appreciate them on PSers who suit that look better than I do.

I go for white metals, mostly platinum, with one rose gold ring and a little pair of princess studs bezel set in yellow gold which I wair occasionally. I love bezels and have two bezel tennis bracelets, an antique bezel pendant and the aforementioned bezel studs. I love shared prong bands, love the look of all diamond, very little metal.

While I like smaller stones, I probably wear too many ct in total. I usually wear ering, wband, rhr, watch, tennis bracelet, pendant and studs.

There are things I couldn''t personally pull off, but nothing much that I don''t actually like!

I like vintage/antique or modern. I have a couple of art deco filigree pieces, but also really like the look of more modern looking pieces, like tension set rings. Laurenthepartier''s asscher cut engagement ring and her new OEC ring are both my idea of perfection. I like coloured stones, but mostly as sidestones and am nervous about coloured stone buying because it seems so overwhelming.

Classic and understated, but beautiful. I have very little, but I like to have elegant, delicate pieces. And if I ever got a ton of money, it''d be the same style with bigger stones, lol.

I know what you mean by wearing too many carats total, my BF thinks its fun to play "count the carats" when I''m going out. I don''t know if this is considered a rude question, if it is please forgive me and ignore the question; how many carats do you think you wear on an average day?

Addy... I think it''s really unique that you like vintage/antique or modern, their on the opposite ends of the spectrum but you can still pull both of them off which speaks volumes about your style. I wish I could pull off vintage/antique pieces I find them so intricate, well crafted, and beautiful... I love the idea of jewelry that carries a story or history, it makes it so special. I totally share your anxiety about colored stones, I love them, I just don''t know much about them so buying is a nerve wracking experience.

On the one hand, I''m modern and super minimalist (bezeled in liquidy metal), and on the other, I''m split-shanked, miligrained, pave halo''d, and OECd!

Definitely classic for me. I like quite delicate dainty pieces normally and love solitaires. To me the perfect size is between 1ct and 1.5ct.

I love EVERYTHING!!! LOL! But, personally, I tend to gravitate toward classic or vintage styles. I''m not a big fan of modern-looking settings or bezel settings (for myself, that is . . . I think those styles are absolutely beautiful on others!) and my favorite cuts are: radiant (my e-ring center stone is a radiant), cushion (don''t have any yet) and asscher (again, don''t have any yet). I also like princess cuts (like my studs and the two bigger sidestones on my e-ring), and round brilliants (which can be found in my three-stone necklace, my tennis bracelet, and my e-ring and wedding band, as well as my RHR which is on order). I also like pears, emeralds and marquises. The only cut that I really don''t think I would wear is heart shape . . . just doesn''t fit with my personality I guess. Oh, and YELLOW GOLD!!! ALL of my jewelry is YG and I just love the richness of the metal!

As far as how many carats I wear on a daily basis . . . hmmmm (pulls out calculator). My studs are 0.72 carats each (1.44 ctw), my necklace is 1.00 ctw, my tennis bracelet is 4.50 ctw, my wedding band is 0.65 ctw, and my e-ring is 1.61 ctw. Soooo, I guess that adds up to 9.20!!! And that will soon increase to 9.60 when my RHR gets here!!!

I like classic styles with a few bold, albeit trendy, pieces mixed in.

I wear pearl stud earrings and my wedding set on weekdays. I''ll sometimes add a modest silver necklace or a bracelet.

When I go out, I wear bolder pieces and take fashion risks on a regular basis.

Sounds like I''m talking about my wardrobe here, too.

I am a bling girl all the way.. But not fond of the pave or halod stuff, classic, but borderline tacky! I like simple styles. I wear a 3ct three stone ering, a 1ct five stone wband on my left hand, a 1 ct band on my right hand, 1ctw studs. and a 1/4ct journey diamond pendant or 1/2 ct three stone pendant daily. i also have a watch thet has diamonds chips on the numerals, and a 5cttw tennis bracelet. oh and a 1 1/2 ct solitaire for my right hand. I think I am done with my diamond collection. I would like to start a colored stone collection now. I have a few LOGR on my watch list!

I didnt even know I LIKED jewelry until a few years ago! I have been a PS stalker for quite some time, and just recently hooked up. I just cannot get enough!!! and let me tell you, my husband sure appreciates all the hand shots! I bounce back from cut to style to carat weight... I just cannot decide... if it''s polished, I like it!

I am not quite sure why he is surprised... I mean, he married someone who is JUST LIKE his mother!

Hmm... all of the above? I feel like this thread calls for pictures!!

I was all ready to reply with "jeans and tops." I guess being too busy for PS-ing lately has gotten me out of the jewelry mindset.

-My wedding set is antiquey and slightly blingy, but with very simple shapes and clean lines. For non-wedding rings, I have a mix of plain bands, an engraved band, and one very thin diamond/sapphire band. So maybe my RHR collection could be classified as understated, since they're all bands of some sort?

-For necklaces/pendants, I much prefer plain metal (no stones) in modern shapes.

-For earrings, small studs if anything. I rarely wear anything more interesting. I do have some of an antiquey look.

-I also have some fashion jewelry... leather cord and silk wrap bracelets, a leather plate buckle bracelet, fakie gold bangles, etc.

Overall...?

Clean? Antiquey? Those seem like conflicting adjectives.

For more expensive stuff (be it jewelery, purses, shoes) I''ll go classic - my diamond studs and pearl studs are staples in my jewelry wardrobe, as is my very simple 3-stone pendant

But since finding PS, I''ve been really into flashier jewelry (halos, etc.), especially when it comes to rings, so maybe I can mix it up a bit. I especially like flashier/blingier (is that a word??? haha) for colored stones - for diamonds, I''d definitely stay classic. And no more yellow gold for me, no antique/vintage styles, nothing super-modern - I guess I lean towards safe/conservative!

Definitely classic, timeless, elegant but simple design, high quality. I am fairly conservative in terms of jewelry and am not comfortable wearing big bling.

I have a 1.6 ct. diamond solitaire ring by Leon with no desire to upgrade, Tiffany Legacy band, 1.5 ctw. diamond studs, 4 ct. tennis bracelet, small diamond cross, some pearls, etc. I''d like to collect a few more Tiffany pieces and maybe a few Mikimoto things. I have a fair amount of things I no longer wear since I changed from yellow gold to platinum and white gold a couple of years ago. So I hope one of my daughters will someday want my yg pieces. Those are classic, too, but yg just doesn''t look good with my coloring.

Mostly I wear prong set diamonds, although I do have a DBTY single diamond bezel pendant (that''s the only bezel I have) and my wedding ring is an antique ArtCarved band.

I would love to get an antique OEC diamond ring to wear to provide a different look, however aside from that, I''m VERY much a classical style/minimalist and usually only wear my wedding set, diamond studs and a pendant. Even if I had a $100K a year diamond budget, I''d still only wear a few pieces at a time to provide a clean low-key look. I''d never wear huge bling.

My favorite diamond shape is Marquise, but I have a total weakness for the classic Tiffany round solitaire.

Somewhere back in the ''90s, I went to a women''s conference where one of the fluff seminars was about personal style. Anybody who was an adult in the ''80s remembers the color wheel and being pegged as either a Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall.

This one was different in that it classifed your personal style based on what you liked. Therefore, once you realize WHO you are stylewise, you should dress that way. Makes sense to me.

Having said all of that, I''m a "Classic Romantic". Drama and ultra modern are not on my radar for bling or clothes. I''m a Talbot meets Coldwater Creek gal.

I kind of like a slightly bohemian look, but Sundance would be too hippie chick for me! I like boots and long skirts for winter; sandals and breezy skirts and capris in the summer. I never wear a suit; don''t even own one. Left that behind in the power-dressing 80s and 90s.

My jewelry is a combination of classic and vintage-looking pieces. I wear a lot of sterling because it is real, yet relatively inexpensive. I think I''m most drawn to interesting earrings; I don''t like big and splashy, but I would never be satisfied with just a pair of stud earrings or small hoops. I wear necklaces only when the outfit ''needs'' it for accent. But I would feel naked without my right arm silver bracelets. When I have more $$, those will be changed to diamond bracelets.

I am drawn to the vintage and classic styles. Anything with bead-set side stones (not micropave) and milgrain just makes my heart melt!

I also love the simplicity and elegance of solitaires and three-stone rings. Not too crazy about halo, bezel or tension. But I do like the durability and low-maintenance channel set bands.
