Finally my bf came right out and asked me about engagement rings! This is the first time he''s ever really initiated a conversation regarding our engagement so this is a major breakthrough! A little background on me and bf. We''ve been dating for 3 and a half years and almost everyone of our friends are either married or engaged already. He hates any talk relating to ''our'' engagement so I rarely, if ever, bring it up. He has already told me he wants to spend the rest of his life with me but will do the whole proposal thing in his own time and he really doesn''t want to feel pressured into it. He''s seen friends of his guilted and pressured into proposing only to have it blow up in their faces.
So here we were at his best friends house for dinner and his friends fiance'' and I were discussing her upcoming wedding where I am a bridesmaid. We were browsing through bridal magazines while the men cooked and came across a section on engagement rings. I was commenting how pretty they were when my bf came over to pour us some more wine and he asked what was pretty. I got all flustered and quickly went to turn the page because he hates any type of pressure (and me looking at rings would certainly be constituted as pressure) but he stopped me and looked at the rings. He asked me if I liked any of them and I said ''seriously?'' and he said ''seriously''. At this point I felt pressured because I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to show him what I wanted but I had to act quickly less he lose interest! He started going through each ring by asking me likes and dislikes of it. I finally decided upon a picture of a 1.32 carat princess solitaire ring and a 2.05 tcw three stone rb ring with melee on the sides. I told him that out of all the rings listed, these two were my favorite. He looked at them and asked all sorts of questions such as metal type (gold or platinum), clarity, and color. I was so excited but struggled to remain calm on the outside, as if we were simply discussing the weather. When he went back to see about the cooking I sat in shock thinking, this could be it!!! Now I know it may not happen soon but at least now he knows what I want. Oh and the funny thing was that when I first starting seriously thinking about erings I wanted an emerald cut but the more I was on Pricescope (TG I found you guys!) I really started liking the princess cut and the rbs. Now I feel like I should start wedding planning!!!! I know I shouldn''t get too excited but I cant'' help myself!!!
