#JOTW A repurposed ring…

I purchased this marquise eternity ring knowing it was probably going to be a remake. As I suspected, it was uncomfortable and bulky.
David Klass is my trusted resource and knew it would be executed perfectly. I provided an inspiration image and added milgraining to enhance the undulating lines of the design. He was able to remake the ring with one less marquise stone because the bezel design sits lower on the finger. The original setting was rhodium plated 14kt white gold and the reset is platinum. It’s being shipped to me tomorrow but I couldn’t wait to share!

Would you mind sharing the carat weight and ring size?

When I repurposed the marquise diamonds from the original setting into the bezel set eternity band, I had one marquise diamond left. For almost a year, I didn’t know how to set it or what to do with it.

Then @pancake made her east/west ring with this gorgeous colored diamond and I have been obsessed ever since. Although my diamond is TINY compared to hers, it helped me decide what to do with the last marquise stone. I am constantly inspired by the members of this forum.

I worked with David Klass to get the design just right so it fit into the eternity band but also could be worn as a stacker with other rings. I think we did more CAD revisions on this simple design than any other project. I wanted the double milgrain to match the eternity band. The band has a flattened top knife edge that angles out to meet the bezel.

If any of you are into numerology, the eternity band is 7 stones and adding the gold band completes the set with 8 stones = eternity symbol.

This is an example on the effects of the color of the metal on a diamond. All the stones are the same I color but the 18K yellow gold gives the stone a warmer appearance.

I am in love with this! Ever since I saw the marquise eternity band I have been obsessed with it, but now you have put a cherry on top with east/west setting and mixed metal pairing. If I ever find a preloved marquise ring that I could convert, THIS is what I want to emulate. So interesting, and unique, and I bet it is comfortable too.

Both rings are true perfection!!
They are so different and each so beautiful.
I’m a huge marquise fan.

Your eternity ring is my all-time fave use of marquise stones! Nah. It's one of my all-time faves of any eternity band! The new ring is perfectly beautiful with the eternity or on its own. Great visioning!

I looooove this set! Perfection

I am so honored by your compliment, thank you!

Yuuup, I officially covet that eternity and obsess with the carved shoulder of the band ring. Mmhmm:love:

Oh my, those are beautiful. You're giving me ideas for my marquise. I would love to have a David Klass piece.

I just received the ring and have to share! I am beyond happy with the design and workmanship from the David Klass bench.
IMG_2530.jpegI am very fond of the marquise shape and the subtle flashes the cut reflects. I did an understated brushed finish on the sides of the ring so the stones and milgrain detailing would be highlighted.IMG_2527.jpegIMG_2528.jpeg

it is drop dead gorgeous on your hand
i hope it gets lots of wear
