A stroll down Worth Avenue in Palm Beach

For my birthday DH took me to Palm Beach and jewelry gazing was on the agenda. He bought me a beautiful DBTY Roberto Coin seven stone that I luvvvve but we had a great time seeing the baubles. I think I've fallen in love with Emerald Cuts.

The first was a 7 ct D IF that was listed for over a million.

The next a significant drop 5 ct K VS1 it was only $225,000

The last was an 8 ct Cushion I SI1. I don't remember the price. (The lighting was very dark. This was an antique shop and my iPhone wasn't doing the job)

The one thing I didn't take a picture if but tried on was a DBTY with 54 .30-.35 diamonds. It was amazing at a cool $37,000. It gave new meaning to DBTY and I've renamed my new birthday present DBTI. Diamonds by the inches.

For those thinking of larger diamonds on a necklace on a longer one its pretty fabulous!!!

Oh, God. Gulp. You know, I pride myself on being all English and into "small-subtle-diamonds", but I have never felt more part of the USA as when I looked at that emerald cut for a million. Screw understatement, if I had the money I TOTALLY WOULD! I've got a soft spot for emerald cuts, and I love my D colour grades. And I adore the baguette sides.

If it's a seven-carat D, and set into a ring with side stones, I actually don't think that a million dollars is bad. That's "only" six hundred thousand pounds. Not much at all for the super-rich. Do you know what clarity it was? And what did you think of the cut - did it sparkle? I'm just wondering if the cut or clarity was compromised, since it's so "cheap"!

I've been going through a difficult time lately with lots of family illness, and do you know, the sight of that ring has made me feel more cheerful than I have in weeks, and much more like myself! Thanks for posting.

I'm glad it brought a smile. It was Internally Flawless. My DH who loves to look with me but is very reserved said to me at dinner that night that was the most beautiful diamond he had ever seen and if he had the money he would buy it for me. . He said "now that's a diamond you can see....from across the room!)

I think it's easy to dismiss mega-diamonds as being too large, but when you actually see one I'm sure they take your breath away.

Those photos are lovely, but I actually prefer the 5 ct emerald to the larger one. The shape is prettier. Can you buy that one instead? And make us lots of photos and videos?
