I just recognised that I have a small but fine collection of brooches and pins but hardly ever wear them. This I want to change. It can be such a great addition to a dress or a jacket. They really should be worn a lot more!
So here they are:
Show me your pretty pins and brooches!

Like right now I already am dying to convert that turquoise & diamond pin you have into a ring!!!!!

I'm a brooch abuser y'all!
There I confessed it!

I need help because I always force them into something they're not!
I think the only help I need for this is exposure therapy....

...lots and lots of exposure to beautiful new & antique brooches & pins!

Help me solve my sickness & post your brooch goodies everyone!
Haha
;)2

@Catmom
I'm gonna say it because it's true but...

Officially my FAVORITE brooch collection on PS girl!

Thanks Big Fat Facets! I think it's a bit of both, lol.

Here's my favorite of the ones I own. I love its Deco-deliciousness. Its from the 1920's, set in platinum, .9 ct Siberian amethyst and colorless diamonds (I forget the total number or carat weight of the diamonds.) I love how the amethyst has so much fire in person, with deep red "sparks" that come out of it. This pic doesn't do it justice. I've never been able to find a modern amethyst that's as richly colored or as lively.

@Catmom aside from loving your collection, I love the turquoise background you displayed it on!

Sadly the one valuable brooch I had was stolen, it was a small bouquet of flowers .
Now I just have a Swarovski whale which is cute but I rarely wear it. Do the pins not ruin your sweater?

what's the difference between a pin and a brooch
i keep thinking hat pins :lol-2:

I agree with you @Roselina ...they need to be worn! You have a lovey collection!

Oh I'm so sorry it got stolen Polabowla. It sounds like it was beautiful. I have never had an issue with the pins ruining anything. I wear a lot of costume pins as well, especially around Christmas time and even though they are heavier, haven't had an issue with those either.

This is gorgeous!!!

Many of you have lovely collections! All mine are very small. I sometimes use them to double up a beaded necklace.

That's a great idea! I'm going to try that.

Thanks Catmom! YOUR collection is divine! Is that dragonfly with the pink wings VCA? Love, love, love it!

I think this is really a dress clip? but I wear it as a pin/brooch. It's the only one I have that isn't a stick pin, or costume jewelry.

that is stunning
is it art deco ?

i feel like there are entire breeds of jewlery that have disappeared over the years
i know we now have nose studs and other adventurous ear, face and body pearcing ... and toe rings
but just imange if the stomacher made a come back !
i think the Queen has only worn this once - for her golden jubilee dinner party for the Euro crowned heads of states
i think her Granny would have had more occasion to wear one
