I have posted several times about replacing my current center tanzanite(in my e-ring) with a diamond. I was at the jeweler today to get my rings replated and viewed my prized tanzanite under scope. I have been putting off replacing the stone, but after seeing the difference 6 months of wear since I last looked at it under magnification, I think I''m going to try to replace the stone as soon as I secure a little more money(should take me 1-2 months). Looking at ring, I have been told the replacement stone should be the same size of the current stone which is 7mm round. Pricing diamonds out, it seems like the difference between a 6.5mm round and a 7mm round is huge. So I have a few questions:
1. if a .5mm difference too big for a reset?(it is currently in a basket set three stone style)
2. is this a decent stone:

3. My budget is $5,000 max, $5,500 including what I would expect to pay for setting the current tanzanite into a pendant.
4. Any other stone suggestions?
