A year of loss and a new puppy...

I'm not over how gorgeous Rhonda is! I'm so sorry for a rotten year and for all your losses. Clearly you love deeply and that is such a testament to who you are. But wow, its amazing how truly comfortable Brodie is - kinda like he was just waiting for your family to drop from the sky! Congrats on your new addition.

Violet, I am so sorry for all your devastating loss in 2016.

Brodie is meant to be for your family and I am so thrilled for you that Rhonda and Brodie love each other so much and get along so well.

Sending you big hugs and lots of good wishes for a happy and healthy 2017 filled with love, peace, joy and happiness. And some bling perhaps.

Congratulations on the wonderful addition to your loving family and please post as many photos as you can because OMG they are all so precious!

Violet, my heart goes out to you for all the loss you've experienced this past year, and to lose your mother while you are so young is heart wrenching, I am so very sorry for all you've been through, hugs to you. I wish you peace and comfort as you begin the new year and I know that Brodi will bring you lots of joy and happiness.

Your Brodi is soooo adorable, it doesn't get much cuter  …I love the pics of the two doggies sitting together, they are going to be great friends. You live in a lovely place, looks like you're close to the beach! Thank you for sharing these great pictures and I wish you all the best as you heal from this extremely difficult time in your life.

I had a similar year to yours in 2012 so my heart goes out to you Violet - you feel battered by events when they just come at you like that. I hope 2017 is healing and kind to you. Your puppy is omg adorable and he seems like he was meant for you and your family - I love his wee smile and how happy Rhonda looks to have a new brother

I'm very sorry for your 2012 year then - if you don't mind my asking, how long did it take for you to feel "normal" again?

Violet, your babies are beautiful! I am so sorry for all the losses you had in 2016. I hope the next year is full of wonderful blessings for you and only happiness. I have had a few years in a row like that. I struggled to get through it. There were quite a few years that on new years eve I felt like I was having a panic attack because I was afraid of what the next year would bring. That has been a few years ago for me and I didn't have that feeling this year. This is what I hope for you, that you get to the end of 2017 and it has been such a good year that you feel hopeful and excited about the next one. Blessings to you!!!

Luv2sparkle, I'm sorry you had a FEW years like this in a row! Honestly, how did you do it? I think I would be in an institution if I had 2 more years like this. I had that same thought on NYE, mild panic about the coming year. The deaths of my mom, grandfather, and dog were each two weeks apart (nearly to the day for each), and I can't stop thinking of who's going to die next. I wish that feeling would go away. Can you tell me any tools you used to try to get better? I see a therapist weekly and I have exercises that I do, but mostly I feel like a zombie, or in some cloud of shock. My mother died so suddenly and unexpectedly, that sometimes I think it's not real when I walk past the refrigerator and see her program from her funeral service. Any advice would be helpful. I'm happy for you that you didn't have that fear feeling this year!

Rhonda is the prettiest girl - crazy, but beautiful. I can't tell you how many people stop us on the beach to ask "what is that?!?" About Brodie...there was surely some divine intervention there. Why on earth anyone would RETURN this sweet, beautiful, funny dog is beyond me. I've always said that he was meant to be in our family, but Rip was still alive when he was purchased the first time, so we wouldn't have been looking for a new dog at that point. That other family was just holding him for us until we needed him. I send pictures of him regularly to the breeder, to tell her how much we appreciate him and how he saved our girl, Rhonda (and me too, if I'm being honest). She said the best thing that ever happened to him was getting returned - now he goes to the beach almost every day

I forgot to post this picture and it's one of my favorites - since Brodie had another family originally, he knew how to sit and was already kennel trained. When my husband asked if they wanted a treat, he came running into the kitchen and sat right at his feet, and he was so tiny (maybe 9 lbs in this pic @ 4 months old). Here's Rhonda and her new brother Brodie sitting for his first treat at our house

Violet, I can not imagine anyone lucky enough to have Brodie letting him go. He has the sweetest face!!! When my husband and I were looking for a puppy I had my heart set on Brodie's breed. We found out quickly that I was very allergic. I remember sitting in the car crying because my husband refused to let me bring the baby we found home. We ended up with a maltipoo due to my allergies. She is eight pounds and also has a sweet little face. She comes running and sits patiently waiting for her treats too. Furbabies are the best!

I am sorry for your losses and I hope that 2017 is a much better year for you. Both dogs Rhonda & Brodie look like they are so happy together!!!! Big hugs to you and one for Brodie too because he is SO amazingly cute!!!!

Oh violet those last two pics are just too cute!   Rhonda really is a beauty, what a precious face, and Brodie is too sweet for words, you can tell they are buddies just from the pics and it's so great! :appl:

Violet, I think Brodie feels the same way about you and Rhonda, that you saved him :halo: Hugs!
