I have completly blown the budget!!!! I didnt take into consideration all the taxes and shipping fees. (the original store had free shipping but no aset or IS images to work with , hence why i swapped vendors)
So............... now I have to start again from scratch!!!
Ive had to pick a new setting and all!
so I have found one at JA and Ive had to drop to around 0.60 ct size stone which im ok with, just trying to put together a short llist. this is what Ive got:

CANT BELIEVE IM BACK WHERE I BEGAN! oh woes me!!!

I love these eleborate settings which is why I have to skimp on the diamond. But should I consider a more simple setting so I can get a better stone???
Im not sure if that would satisfy me though.......
soooooo sorry to put you through all this again.

This is the new setting I have picked................. do you think a small stone will look silly??? I love it.

The size difference between .60 and .70 is negligible anyways, even though the price difference is large. I like the setting you picked and think it will look lovely.

I''m willing to bet the first E SI1 is not eye clean and that is why the price is so low.
Second ESI1 gets 4 vgs from the HCA, I''m not craxy about the IS though it looks like some tilt.

I like this one the best.

Your ring choice is lovely and I think the one DD likes looks like a great diamond. I think the .60 size will look great in the ring.

The setting is beautiful! It's also a high-maintenance setting with a lot of pave to take care of. Are you okay with that? Most of us with pave rings are pretty careful with them, don't wear them 24/7, get them checked regularly and expect that someday we'll need to replace a stone or two.

I personally would not spend more on the setting than the stone. The reason is after 25 years of marriage I still have my stone but the setting did not survive. It lasted about 15 years. My taste has changed as well as my metal preference.

Thanks for the input everyone!
I know it will be high maintenance, but im pretty maticulaus with my jewellery anyway and im always cleaning and checking, so thats fine. And I figured that maybe i would have to replace the odd stone aswell. But i will consider something a bit simpler............... though I dont think it will make me 100% happy, its definatley food for thought though!
SO............................ Is this the best stone im going to get for my money??? beacause Im making the call in the next couple of days to order the ring. Should I keep looking or is it going to be the same everywhere I look? I found some similar settings on WF and they had an amazing diamond, But i would have to pay extra to have the stone set etc etc and figure Im just better off sticking with JA, plus the minimum stone size has to be 1carat to fit the settings that i liked!!!
Soooooooooo scared now that its crunch time! oh! and my partner prefers this ring setting to the first anyway.............. BONUS!!!

OOOOOHHHHH!!!
now that ive calmed down and had a chance to really look, i think i may have found some better stones!!!!
what do you think of these 2???
They score much better!!! hopefully they are clean, I didnt realise the stones I picked b4 were only scoring VG grade.

Your thoughts?????
I really like the first............... I think any flaws can prob be hidden with the prongs and the basket mounting??, The cert doesnt seem to show anything major on the table surface..................... am I correct???............ a little excited!!!

Both of these look good kkara, check they are eyeclean. The second one has grade making clouds so check these aren''t impacting performance by asking one of the gemologists to check. Also the Idealscope image shows a very slight hint of what could be leakage, it probably looks worse because of the lighting but I doubt it would be visible in real life.
