I am having a local jeweler make a platinum setting with tapered baguettes. I want a simple, classic, petite ring. I have a 2ct emerald cut diamond as the center stone. I used the Kwiat tapered baguette setting as the inspiration. I also like the tapered baguette ring from Tiffany.

Please let me know your opinions on these renderings. Does it look too industrial? Is there something off about the view from the top? I really appreciate your feedback. I want to get this right!

Personal preference. My preference is to have the setting more tapered so I see more diamonds and less metal, or at least longer baguettes.

Both the kwait and the Tiffany are more tapered than the CAD one shown. They taper from the end of the baguette and they also have a "notch" or "airspace" triangular wedge that the CAD is missing, where the baguette ends and the taper meets the shank. The CAD seems 'industrial' as you say - it does appear heavier than the shanks of the originals you are linking to.

I'd ask for a revision and make the setting much finer and delicate than shown.

Besides the tapering, I would also have them fix the prongs. If possible have them do claw prongs (in Tiffany's inspriation) instead of the pegs they have in the CAD.

Overall lovely ring. I'm a big fan of this classis setting and used to have something similar with an asscher CS for a RHR.
