Advice for wedding band

Hi,

Thanks to pricescope's help, my fiance is happily wearing a 1.79 ct (about 7.8 mm wide) H GIA-certed round diamond with medium blue fluorescence, in a Tiffany-like six prong solitare setting. Now it's time to buy a wedding band, and I'm hoping that you all can help me again. EDIT: her finger is size 6.

We've pretty much settled on a 5 or 7 stone shared prong band. From the top view, we'd like it to look like Tiffany's stared prong setting here http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Ite...8152-r+101323340+101424822-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+ We're more flexible about the side view, the trellis or the Tiffany side view both work for us (U-prong isn't really appealing to us).

My fiance plans to wear the ering and the wband together initially, and wear the wband alone later.

My questions are:

1) What size melee would you choose to complement a 1.79 ct diamond for either 5- or 7- stone bands?

2) Since our main diamond is an H, should I get H or below melee?

3) Which vendor do you suggest for the biggest bang for the buck? Seems like IDJ is pretty popular around here for non-branded melee, esp with their "pricescope-quality" melee.

4) Are there any PS vendors that do palladium wbands? Does palladium and .950 platinum colors match?

5) I see a lot of people wanting their bands to be "set low". Does that prevent scratching of the ering prong or does it look better?

6) Any other advice you can provide (e.g. things i should ask about, ensure all-or-none for fluorescence, etc.)?

Thanks again for your help. I never thought that I could be interested by diamonds, but now I'm hooked!

Hey warheadwl... I don't have a solitaire, buy my 1.68 OEC was set by IDJ in 18K WG and here I am wearing it with my IDJ 8 x .12 "U" prong 14K WG band. The stones are F/G, SI but I asked for PS quality stones, so they are eye clean and a few are H&A. Some even have fluoro too - and in daylight, they are all equally as beautiful. I don't go to black light situations, but if I did, my band would look pretty cool! I do not wear my OEC as my ering, but thought I'd share what a similar diamond size and a multi stone band look like together.
