Hello All,

I'm after some advice please.

I have a 3ct certified unheated Kashmir sapphire that has just been removed from its halo setting, so that I can sell it (setting was dated and ring wasn't getting any serious bites).

I've been advised that the best bet is to try gemstone dealers, but I don't know where to start. I'm based in Australia (but my stone is currently with a jeweler in the US), so any suggestions on reputable gemstone dealers I should reach out to?

Thanks soooo much in advance (pic for attention).

I don't have any relevant suggestions, but I'm sure others will be along shortly to assist. I just wanted to say good luck!

Looks very pretty!

I mean no offense when I say that it's not classic saturation or tone for Kashmir and perhaps not even "cornflower."

I'm sure you know that for Kashmir-level pricing, you'd generally need "classic Kashmir" attributes, plus two or more reports from tip-top labs.

So in this scenario, I'm not sure that you need a "Kashmir-level dealer," per se, as opposed to someone who could best leverage the origin report to attract a buyer for whom that is the main priority. I'm thinking someone who could take great photos and reach a wide audience -- like some of the IG-based vendors. Jogani in LA -- with whom I've never worked but did make an inquiry or two pre-pandemic -- seems to effectively market some quirky stones with prestige origins. I don't know where they buy or if they take consignment, etc.

Bribe a lab for a special appendix and then send it to a fancy auction house where it will sell for $1.5 million.

(Not directed at you, OP... just making a funny about a stone in another thread.)
