Hello everyone!

I can''t beleive I''m actually posting in the "Brides World Wide" section....woo hoo!

Anyway, we need to get my ring insured ASAP and I was wondering if any of you had reccomendations or thoughts on companies to stay away from. We had thought of using Chubb, but one of the local representatives who my fiance contacted said he only sells the jewelry insurance if you have/are buying a homeowners policy through Chubb too. I''m not sure if that''s a Chubb policy, or that individual agent''s.

My fiance just found this company, and I''m wondering if anyone has used them: Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. Thanks for any advice!

I recommend doing a quick search here on Pricescope for those two companies'' names. You''ll find a HUGE load of threads on these two companies. I personally have Chubb and although many agents told me the same thing you were told, it''s not true for everyone. There are agents who will write stand-alone policies, you just have to look hard to find them.

Thanks APhi!

The picture in your avatar is gorgeous by the way -- where is the flower from?

i second what aphis said, in the RT section of the site at any given point in time you will find 1-2 threads on insurance in the first few pages of the forum...typically asking about chubb and JM and other venues etc.

chubb will insure you without other policies, you just have to find the agent who sells standalone policies. there was just 2-3 threads on this about 3 weeks ago...it was when i was getting my ring insured through chubb so i recall it pretty well. good luck!

mine is insured through jeweler''s mutual. we found the company very convenient. the insuring process was really easy. luckily we haven''t had to make a claim so i can''t say if they''re helpful in that sense. we didn''t own a home at the time we bought the ring (if that matters).

Thanks everyone for reminding me about the good info available when you search.

Mara -- I actually just contacted the person you used who you reccomended, she sounds very good. Hopefully she''ll get back to me soon -- I''m paranoid without my ring insured (I tend to lose everything).

mine is with our home owner''s. It is under a seperate policy.

Mine is insured with State Farm with a stand alone policy. They are affordable and have been great to work with.

Thanks! It''s an orchid I bought a few weeks ago. The prettiest one in the store and the prettiest one we''ve seen in a long time. I''m not sure which kind of orchid it is though. I took the picture the day I got it.

Good luck on your search!
