sorry, and a picture:

ASET does not look all that good to me. Too much green around the edges which means it won't be a bright stone from edge to edge. Also appears to have a good bit of leakage in the center. I do like the image of the stone, though. Too bad it doesn't have better light performance. It would help to be able to see it in person.

That doesn't look like an actual ASET to me. It looks more like a computer generated one???

Looks nice.

any thoughts on what the price on this stone would be given that ASET and picture? 1.5 H VS2

Hi all! I received the remaining pictures and ASET's on the remaining two stones that I was comparing the first two. Thoughts, opinions, criticisms, ideas, all welcome please! thanks!

Stone Number 2: 1.52 CT G VS1

Well I like that this second one has more contrast (blue), but it also has more leakage all around the stone compared to your first one....I'd still pick the first one.

EDIT because there's a CLEAR winner!!! #3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha, wait, so you like number 3? more of the modern, icy look too, right?

1 or 2, they are similar. since they are from the same place, the vendor is best able to advise you

Yes!!!! But also because it has more red and blue than the other two. All of them have leakage in the center but only the third one has more red and blue which is great! If your girl likes the icy look, then that's what you need to get her. The others won't perform the same. Others will tell you to go with the other ones because that's their preference. But if the one you're giving the stone to likes that cut, then that's the one you should get! And again, it's got the best aset.

OK, thanks! are you sure that #3 has the best ASET? It looks like two does to me but honestly i don't know how to expertly read these things...all opinions welcome!

definitely not the last stone as it shows too much blue!

Hi All,

Received another ASET that I think 'performs' better than the other 3...thoughts? Thank you

It is a 1.53 G VS2...does anyone see any problems with that black inclusion near the center around 2:30...this is a GIA certified VS2...wonder if I would see that with the naked eye???

This has the nicest ASET so far. Shrink down the picture to the actual mm size then ask yourself if you can spot the inclusion. ;))

Yes, this last one looks the best to me. The second one would be my second choice. Number 3 is a big no because of of all the
blue I dont think it will be a very bright stone.

The last one for sure. #3 looks... not as good.

OK, so i am close to pulling the trigger on Stone 4. Not surprisingly, it is the most expensive. Based on your reading of stone 4's ASET, would you say the stone would sparkle and exhibit brilliance and fire, or is it more likely to be without 'life'. I guess I'm concerned that I am going to buy a stone without fire (given how much i am spending) but I have to admit, when i first saw that ASET on stone 4, I thought this stone would be nice in comparison to the others! What else can i do in terms of research given that I do not have the luxury of seeing the stone in person before wiring the funds? Thank you!

I sincerely would choose #2 for my first choice. I think it has the best shape, facet pattern, clarity, and ASET.

Second choice would be #4 but not sure about the inclusion. It is also a little more elongated than I like. The other two I wouldn't consider.

(Just FYI, you want to see a lot of red and blue. Blue is just contrast and the red and blue would change as the stone is tilted. The green is neutral and white is leakage. 2 and 4 have the best asets followed by number 1. All three of them have pleasing facet patterns. Nice selection to choose from!)

I like the facet pattern on #2....I would ask the gemologist which stone is the better performer the last one or #2.

I agree aside from the ASET image (but I'm no pro).

I too prefer the look of stone #2, but I think #4 has the best ASET.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate all of these opinions as it has been a long and educational process. I think I have come a long way as some of you will notice from my earlier posts and the stones that I was posting back then...

It might be marginally better, true. But I think no. 2 has a very nice ASET for a modern cushion and is overall the better choice. Thought maybe I should clarify! Thanks!

Your hard work is paying off! Good luck on your decision!

I'm leaning towards stone 2; however, the depth on stone 2 is 71.6%...does that raise any flags to anyone? fyi - the table is 59. Thanks!

Less depth often means greater face up size. You weren't listing measurements on the stones above, so we couldn't really factor that into our decisions. What are the diameter measurements of #2?

04diamond, if I may ask. How long have you actually been corellating ASET imagery in diamonds with practical observation? Not saying I agree or disagree with your comments, but just curious.

Please post the measurements of the stones you post. Nice to have the ASETS but the measurements will tell if they face up well for their carat weight.

The last 1.53 G ASET looks really good to me...what inclusion at 2:30??? LOL! Just looks like a facet that is turned "off"...don't think it should be noticed to the naked eye...what does the gemologist say?

I still like the crisp faceting of the 1.51 G VS1 Ask the gemologist which stone is the better performer and please post the measurements.
