PS Team,
I have narrowed down to two stones. Both cost ~11K. Any thoughts on proportions? Are these priced well or should i keep looking?

STONE 2

Thanks!

I'm not wild about the numbers on either of those. The first one has a depth that is too great. When weight hides in the depth, it can result in a stone that faces up smaller than it would with a lesser depth. The second one has a pavilion angle that is over the safe zone. Either of these stones may be okay, but you can do better.

Here are just a couple of guidelines for you:

table 54-58

depth 60.0-62.3 (but usually try to find 60-62.0)

crown angle 34-35

pavilion angle 40.6-41.0

Thanks a lot! Back to searching! :(

You are very welcome! It helps to have the parameters that usually result in a stone that falls into the ideal cut category! I meant to say up there that I usually try to stick to 60-62 for depth, but up to 62.3 is fine.

Would ideal cut parameters (listed above) always result in an HCA Score of < 2?

Both can be very nice. If you saw it and preferred one I don't think it is a problem. Both could be ps-quality ideal cuts but we here don't have the full picture just from the numbers.
