Advice please :)

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of having a ring designed through the same wonderful vendor who made my tourmaline ring.

The centre stone will be a blue emerald cut sapphire - dimensions: 5.9 x 4.5mm

The side stones will be two princess cut white sapphires - dimensions: 4 x 4mm each

I have seen some photos of the combo together but it is a bit difficult picturing what they will look like on me.

My greatest worry is that the sapphires will look too bulky together on my finger (size 5), hence I was hoping to receive some advice from this board. Should I go for smaller sidestones? Different shape?

I will post photos tommorrow once the vendor sends me an update.

Seems a bit "squat"; it will probably look almost like a wide band because there is only a 1 mm height difference at the top and bottom where the center and side stone are next to each other. The prongs alone will probably make up that 1 mm difference.

Thanks Chrono. I agree it may look "squat" which is what I've been worrying about. Do you think switching to a bigger centre stone might help? I've had my eye on a 8x 6.4mm emerald cut green tourmaline and it might go better with the white sapphires.

The proportions of the green tourmaline sounds like a better match with the 4 mm sapphires.

I've never been very good with making big decisions so it definitely helps when I get advice from the pros.
