Hi Folks,
New member here who is somewhat confused with the amount of information to take in when buying a diamond. This is my first purchase into the bright world of diamonds and want to make sure I make the right purchase.
I am looking for something sparkly obviously but something that will also look as bright as possible for my budget.
I am after a "pear shaped" diamond and there are 2 diamonds in the running, the links for which are......

I was veering towards the lower one as the cut and polilsh are better, however understand it has issues with its UV light rating so am being pushed towards the top one as I understand there is no visible difference to the nake eye between "Excellent" and "Very Good" GIA ratings for cut and symmetry.
I am however concerned that the top one was rated in 2005 by the GIA and does not seem to have been sold yet. Will there be a reason for this?
I would be very grateful if any of you experts could advise on any of the points I raise above and most importantly direct me to which one you would recommend out of the two.
Many thanks in advance.
