advise on emerald diamond decision

It is ok, but it doesn't say "buy me." In the IS and 40x, the facets don't seem parallel to the girdle.

The IS looks quite nice but the off-symmetry of the step faceting bothers me. I would pass on this EC and keep looking.

It looks quite glassy. Just not a very beatutiful diamond. This is why pictures are so crucial with ECs. The numbers on the diamond are not bad, but if you just went by those, you wouldn't know what it looked like at all.

I think we brought in one of the diamonds Chrone suggested. I just received the details.

1.01 ct F VS2 Emerald

I attach the GIA report (I took a snapshot of the pdf because it was to large to upload on the server) , an picture, the sarin report and idealscope image.

I think it looks good but I would really appreciate it if you let me know what you think.

This is a MUCH prettier EC than the previous one. The Sarin numbers and cert looks good. Nice crown height, good low depth and table percentage, and an even girdle. The IS isn''t too shabby either. Although it shows quite a bit of leakage at the corners (more common in ECs), it appears to have very good contrast (red and black).

Do you like it?
Do you think it is a keeper for you? I think this one looks good.
What does WF say? Who are you dealing with?

thanks a lot for coming back to me and for the good news ! I apologise for the delay in my reply – I could not access the server over the weekend for some reason.

I like it a lot. I am dealing with Bob at WF who really is a very nice guy, giving me advice and explaining a lot of the necessary information to understand the process of choosing a diamond. He is really fantastic.

He tells me that the two diamonds (the first one I posted and this one) are quite similar and both very nice. Like most people suggested, he told me that one still needs to put his eye on any fancy cut to make that final judgment. He prefers the first one but they are very close and leaves it up to me for deciding.
