My brother, discouraged a bit at finding out what Scott Kay''s pricing was this day & age, came up with a different alternative. Not channel set with milgraine edging, but more of a traditional bead set ring. Since he knows without a doubt his future wife wont say no, (boy he''s got some big ones huh), he is opting to go for the whole enchilada & get the set. Better pricing that way too, & for sure the rings will match. One jeweler said that these rings would look really lovely, no milgraine but bead set with 10 X 3pts in the ering & 12 X 3pts in the wedding band for a total of .66pts in diamonds & 17grams platinum & set with a V prong. What do you guys think of this one? Pretty reasonable for a casted peice & the jeweler said that often times the peice will need a tiny bit of tweeking (filing the prongs a bit finer or polishing the ring a bit finer, those kinds of things)

Has anyone seen anything like it? I thought WF had one, the bead set ring, but its only got .20 stones in the ering & looks just a teeny bit more concave (scooped inwards) at the side of the shank, like a Tiffany. Center stone, .80ish in size. The ring I think is somewhere around 2.6mm but no more than 3mm.

Oh Shoot, didnt come out!
If you go to www.adwar.com, collection 13, page 957, 1st row, last set #17284L. This set was about $1500 cheaper than Scott Kay & about $1600 cheaper than Gottlieb & Sons Cartier version. I think Adwar can offer some real value to a tight budget or at least offer a ton of variety under one site. You just have to use your imagination at seeing the rings complete. LOL My brother thought "oh thats bad", then I told him the stones were not in it! LOL LOL He laughed & he said "I dont know these things". Cute guy.....

~~It looks really pretty, I just wish I could get a better view of it...

Me To! I have to go to my pics & blow it up just to the point of it getting blurry. LOL Adwar sure has some nice stuff, but most of the time you need a magnifying glass to see it. Believe me, I checked out each & every page holding my mothers credit card size magnifier, I think its the Owl. LOL LOL

~~LOL... that is too funny!!

I couldn''t view the picture but it sounds lovely. Can the jeweler order it in for his approval before he has to commit?

I saved a lot of money by getting an adwar cast for a halo pendant. If you go through a jeweler to get the cast, ask them to show pictures of the cast before having the work done. Just in case you don't like it.

I think this is what you are talking about.

By the #'s on the bottom, it will hold a one carat stone (you will have to add the head) and it will need twenty two- 3 point diamond melee.

Looks like it will be a gorgeous set!

Hi All,
Thank you Jelly for putting up the pic of the set. :-) I think it will be a lovely set too. Its small but I think you can get an idea of what it will look like. Of course for us to look at blank peices is easy, but for the layman I guess not so easy. I showed the pic to a co-worker yesterday & she was a bit silent at 1st then she says "well, if he wants the diamond to sit THAT low it might look ok". OMG!! I was laughing. I said, there''s no head in it yet for the center stone. LOL Then she started laughing & said she kinda wondered if that was what a modern ring looked like. LOL LOL OMG! My brother did the same thing when I showed him the pic. He''s going to choose that one. :-) I convered him to the bling side. LOL He originally wanted a solitaire, now its a set with stones. LOL There will be no milgraine on this, he thinks too busy with the bead set. So similar to the Tiffany set. I tried on the A. Jaffe set that has the rings that have the rounded shank, similar to this one. I couldnt tell wearing it that it had a rounded shank.

Jelly, you are completely correct, Adwar will save you a lot of money. Your pendant turned out fantastic & to look at it would never know it wasnt a designer brand. Not everyone can afford custom or hand made. But the other thing, if you want earings or pendants, but they arent important peices you want to spend an arm & a leg for, then a casting company is really a great option. I like Adwar because so many designs, awful pics, but nice designs. Also Ajour International, then you have Stuller, & Overnight Mountings too. Lots to look at. :-)
