What is your favorite airline to fly with and why?

I love flying with Continental because they have TV's, offer free food, and they have power outlets (I use it for the laptop).

I'm flying to Mississippi and I made my flight reservations through Continental but guess what? I'll be on a US Airways flight (someone explain why they do this please) :angryfire: I HATED flying with US Airways. No free food, no TV's, no power outlets. I really have to wonder why they don't have TV's on their flights.

We try our best to fly Continental exclusively and will travel to the Newark, NJ airport for that reason ( plus I don't really like the Philly airport or driving to that airport). We took a short flight back in November and I am sad to report that the meals on Continental are no longer free coach that is and only for the domestic flights that are less than 6 hours). At least we get preferential boarding and have access to the President's club ( lifetime membership).

I like Continental because I used to have elite status and got upgrades and free stuff  Now that I don't fly for work every week, I still use Continental, even though I don't get any freebies anymore. I've never had a bad customer service experience with them, though I'm am annoyed that they charge for tv watching now (it used to be free, and you could pay for a movie). Also, you can't start the movies whenever you want (at least on the recently flights I've been on) and you have to watch it whenever it is starting. So now I'm not liking them as much!

The only airline I truly don't like is Northwest - I've had some bad experiences with them regarding luggage, though it maybe have been more the fault of the Hartford Airport than the airline.

#1 Pick: Virgin America. Great entertainment system, new modern-design planes, yummy food for purchase, great attitude of staff. Too bad they only really fly to/from Boston/NY and LA/SF. Feels like there is more legroom as well.

#2 Pick: JetBlue. Again all about the back-of-seat TVs. Planes are clean, snacks are nice, and reasonably good leg room.

#3 Pick: American. Mainly because I have status, but usually have had good experiences here.

.Every other airline.

#1billion: United. HATE flying United, but often forced to b/c they have so many west coast flights. The "Economy Plus" section has more legroom - guess where they got it from? Regular Economy, of course! As a 5'10" lady I find United flights especially painful.

Ugh, really? The last time I flew with them was in August. I wonder if this happened after the merge with US? I almost always fly out fo Newark. The flights are always cheaper for some reason too. Any idea why?

I'm currently stuck in Charlotte, I just love delays!

I think I'm gonna have to find a new airline to fly with...

I also found out that Continental and Amex are stopping the OnePass miles next year which was one of the reasons I loved to fly with them.

If I'm not mistaken, is JetBlu slightly limited in terms of places they travel to? I always hear great things about them but I can never find flights with them to certain places.

Jet Blue is, unfortunately, limited to where they fly. I would fly them more but I would have to catch them out of New Orleans and connecing through JFK doesn't always make sense depending on where I am going. The few time I have flown them though, they we wonderful!

If I am traveling alone, because DH will never do it, I always take Delta up on their offer to give up my seat and catch a later flight if the amount is worth the extra time of the layover. Sometimes when I do this I have found that even with the extra vouchers I am bumped up to first class. Another observation is to get the earliest flight out in the morning for having availble seats left. To me flying has become a game. I must be insane but I am looking forward to the travel opportunities of 2011.

My favorite is Frontier. Out of the direct flight options that we have up here, this is the best. You have an individual tv to watch, they're always super polite and yes sometimes you get cookies! Their oatmeal raisin cookies are the best! It really bothers me if I have to use another airline, it's just never as pleasant and Alaska Airlines is the worst! I hate their flights, I make it a point to not book with them!

Echoing a love of Air NZ. mmmm, their NZ ice cream cups are awesome and they are all so friendly. Virgin is amazing, a vacay in its own right. Once near New Years it really was like a flying party. free booze.

Some internal Chinese flights used to have no restrictions on the number of people flying so if you didn't hustle you could stand on a flight to Tibet. Still way safer than the trains, but not fun. This was changed right before the Olympics I think since just one day there was no more standing.

Love Air India despite the weirdly wallpapered interior of old Delta jets. Good food, bollywoood movie and the cheapest way to London around.

Love El Al, where else are you interrogated by a cute soldier like you are on a first date just to get on a plane? Dislike, the back of the plane is always happy chaos, I do not know how it gets segregated into Orthodox and secular when people buy tix, but it always exists.

Jetblue, how I love you and your tvs...why don't you fly where my family lives?

Really as long as I get a tv I'm happy, but my great hates are.

Al Italia, they couldn't hold on to luggage if you paid them, oh wait! you do! Thanks for leaving my bags on my back porch 3 months after I returned from India and not telling me so they could get rained on.

Aer Lingus, least friendly flight attendants ever. Which is odd since its just a country of lovely people. For a few years they wouldn't let you listen to an iPod while in flight as it would "mess with the plane," now that is just terrifyingly ignorant. Luckily that nonsense ended, but their food is still vile and only recently do you get your own tv. Also my DH was slugged by a drunk, but I'm not sure if he didn't provoke it. Anyway, don't serve people that much alcohol Aer Lingus!

Air Ghana, yes we boarded in Lagos, Nigeria, a place where there are no metal detectors in the airport. But really, when we land in Frankfort you really should do something other than let everyone walk into the airport without any security. Truly terrifying, there were people on that flight with large knives and who knows what else; they went off to their connecting flights without so much as a once over. Also the departure time being a three hour window, at least its honest, but rather hard to plan connections.

Meh, What is the worst that can happen to you on a USAir flight? Anywhere I fly in the US I get stuck next to a man who is shorter than me who thinks his crotchal area needs to be aired out so he splays his legs...of course after asking me if I'll give up my aisle seat. I'm 5'10 and I know how to use the internets, (seatguru is the best), don't even think you can ask for my aisle seat shorty!

Ryan air is dire. Dire.

I'm surprised anyone likes British airways, they are definitely NOT considered one of the better airlines though they are our national carrier.

I live in Atlanta, so my love goes to Delta. Mainly because I can get almost anywhere I need to go with a direct flight. They've started flying a TON of the older Northwest planes in the last year, which stinks because it means no TV, but at least there's WiFi. I flew a ton this year (like 176 times so far, i think i'll end the year with nearly 190 segments), so I get upgraded nearly every flight. Free drinks take the sting out of no TV!

I love Airtran.....Super cheap and I've never been late or had luggage missing.

I used to always fly Delta...but a few mess-ups made me switch.

Hands down my favorite is Singapore Airlines. They are just amazing and even more amazing if you have their PPS card.

I really dislike Ryanair and Delta.

BA and Air France are ok in my book although I prefer AF to BA...BA have pissed me off on more than one occasion so far. TAM is quite nice too.
