As regular forumites will know, photographing colour change gemstones is really problematic. Even more so with Alexandrite where it just doesn't ever want to show it's daylight green colour on film! Several years ago I managed, by accident, to take a video of one of my pendants that shows the colour change. Honestly, the colours are still not what I see in real life but this is as near as I'm ever going to get and I have finally managed to upload a video to YouTube!!!!
So, when you watch this video, the daylight colour I "see" is medium green (think forest green) but not too dark. When I move inside I get an amethyst purple with pink flashes.
The sequence of this video is daylight/green moving inside to incandescent/purple and then back outside again. Hope you like it!
