I had an appointment today with the hair stylist that I plan to use for the wedding. I have seen her work before and thought it was amazing. She is actually the cousin of my cousin''s wife. She did their bridal party 3 years ago. So my appointment was at noon and I arrived about 25 mins early. We spoke on the phone last weekend and she told me to come in today because she was going to try 5 different styles on me. She asked if I had my head piece and I told her no. She said I should really try and devote some time to finding one because it would make today''s appointment much easier. So I went shopping this past week and couple of times and ended up finding a headpiece that goes perfect with my dress. After buying the headpiece I''m really excited and anxious about today''s appointment.

After being there today for about 30 mins she has someone shampoo my hair and prep it for the styling. I was going along with the flow not exactly sure what she was going to do yet. She put the headpiece on my head a few times and wrote down some measurements. So she had me sit back down in the waiting area. To make a long story short I ended up being there for 6.5 hours!!! And the best part is that she didn''t try 1 wedding style!!! She had 5 other clients today that she was working on so she was back and forth between us all. When she finally got to me and my hair had been blown dry she asked me how I wear my hair(curly or straight?) I looked at her kinda funny because who cares how I wear my hair on a daily basis. I was only interested in wedding hair. Do you believe that she flat ironed my hair like I normally wear it and that was it. I am pretty furious because I feel like she lied to me.

We had a whole conversation last Saturday about the 5 different styles. She asked me to try to find a headpiece which I did. I called her back and asked her about adding hair extensions. She said that there is a place right next to her salon where the hair can be purchased today. So I feel like we had this whole long convo and everything that happened today was the complete. When I asked her about it she said that todays appointment was to take measurements and see what type of hair I have. I didn''t need to sit there for 6.5 hours with my mom for her to flat iron my hair!! I feel like I was deceived and lied to. I have seen her work and it is beautiful so I really want to see what she can do for me, but now I''m feeling pretty uncomfortable. Then on top of all of that everything ended up costing about 40 dollars more than she originally said. She gave me the price of the consultation which I though would include everything today. Today she added in for the conditioner and the flat ironing.

She gave me an appointment for 2 weeks from now to come in which is when she will do an actual style. I''m trying to decide if I want to go and pay her again. I really do want to see what she is capable of doing for me, but I will also be looking into other options in the meantime. What are your thoughts?

Wow, I would be pissed! I would demand that she do the trial for free because your last appointment was supposed to be the trial. You never said you wanted to pay her to see what kind of hair you have! And I''ve never heard of a stylist taking measurements...What''s she measuring for???

Oh heck no... 6.5 HOURS for a wash, dry and flat iron? That is SO rude to get to you "when she can" when you are a paying customer like the ones she was serving! No way... I would cancel and tell her I didn''t have time to spend another 6.5 hours for A style.

What a ripoff! I''d find another stylist. There are SO many great stylists out there that do beautiful work - you definitely don''t have to put up with that kind of behaviour!

You were VERY patient. I think after about 2 hours I would have insisted on an explanation and gotten a better understanding about what this appointment was for and when the 5-styles part was going to start. Since flat ironing takes a while, didn''t you question her when she started about what style she was trying for? Also, I''ve never heard of measurements being taken for a hair style. What was being measured??? Sounds like if you really want to work with her you need to talk to her again and find out what happened that day. Did you misunderstand her or did she suddenly get busy? You need to tell her you were disappointed becaseu the day did not go as planned. (not a good sign for a wedding day)

I would NOT meet with her again unless you are sure she is being up front with exactly what will go on and what will be charged. And I think she should give you a free trial since this past appointment was such a disaster.

Ditto everyone else. WHAT a joke.
You''d think after making you sit there for six and half hours she would at least honor her original price. Call it even. I would be livid if I were you.

Wow you were VERY patient. I can see myself sitting there though for that long in anticipation for 5 different hairstyles.

However, when I did not receive them, and... had to pay on top of it for a wash and a flat iron. I would have had enough.

Do you have time to check into other hairstylists? Do you feel that you can even trust her now? What if on your wedding day she pulls something as rude. I think, she thinks, too highly of herself..

When my niece got married last year, we went for her trial hairstyle appt. The hairstylist was over 45 minutes late, no-one said anything about what was taking so long or, that so and so will be with you in such and such a time. Sorry for the delay. Thank-you for your patience ect ect ect.

My niece got up and said let's go and we walked out. She figured if, the hairstylist was not going to inform her as to why she was so late. She would not inform her she was leaving.

The hairstylist called a 1/2 hour after we left, asking if she would be back and she said no and goodbye.

Good Luck to you in whatever you decide...

You are a patient woman, I would have NEVER waited that long. I would have been fuming mad and would''ve walked out and asked her to call me when she wasn''t so busy.
