This review is written on my own accord. Sorry about the pics, as I can't find the original ones he took that are stunners. These are stills from his video posted at the end.
I recently purchased a 0.72 carat H-V2 princess cut AGS 000 diamond from Wink Jones and had him set in in a Blue Nile 14K engraved setting. I have always liked the phrase "price, quality service: choose two". Wink delivered on all 3, and in fine fashion.
1. Price
Not much to discuss here. Wink's price on the ring came in lower than 3 other vendors with whom I checked. I had been given 4 choices in my price range and had the AGS cert #s for them to check price. Another internet vendor could source the stone and dishonestly told me his cost was only $50 under a quoted price that was $100 over what Wink had quoted me. That sealed the deal, and the price was great to begin with. I was looking to maximize value, and I increased my budget to $3k total.
2. Quality
Not a lot to say here since I was arguably shooting for the highest quality princess cut stone currently available. It's an AGS000 and one that is fiery and full of life. I found that at the time of my search (right before Thanksgiving 2012), there weren't a ton of 0.65-0.75 AGS000 stones around outside of the normal Pricescope vendors and a few others.I've had the bench's setting work checked quickly by a local and very well respected appraiser and everything checks out nicely. Why did I go with wink?
3. Service
This was not a normal transaction. I reached out on a Friday via email, Wink emailed me cert #s to research, I chose the stone over the weekend, the shipped setting from Blue Nile and the stone got to him late Tuesday, he had it set Wednesday, and I received the ring Thursday to propose on Friday evening. Wink was responsive to email (I don't know that I emailed 58 times as another poster has mentioned), but there was a good amount of back and forth. He sent photos and a video when he was able and kept me updated on progress at all times including over the weekend while he was engaged in non-work activities. Wink is honest, trustworthy, and he is a stand-up guy who is lucky to do something for a living that he truly enjoys. I couldn't be happier with the end result.
So, one can have all three in rare situations. But what matters is that the fiance couldn't like the ring more. Wink did a fantastic job and I recommend him with highest praise.
