This one is so dreamy and romantic!

Circa 1900 14k rose/peach gold weighing 4.86g and centered with a slightly oval 5mm x 4.7mm old mine cut diamond. Estimated carat weight is .50 and the prongs could use some touch-up in the next 12 months.

Engraved to the interior with the date of presentation, and stunning 'bloomed' finish to the rose gold which lets it slightly shimmer in different lighting conditions. Under fluorescent light this gold truly changes colors as the ring turns. The diamond is also best appreciated from its various views of the side and ¾ tilt, where the chunky facets show more fire and look bright and vivid. I received it as a gift but it's ready for a new home.

Some rings look great from the top but are soulless from the side. This ring is all about the side view, which is how most people see their rings all day long (except maybe some PSers like me who never stop rotating them and gushing over them.... ahhhh). The top view shows how sparkly and chunky the diamond is, but from the side, the magic starts! The split shank goes all the way around and completes the sculpted ring in 360 degrees of thoughtfulness.

The carved design is Strapwork, a style of gold jewellery design inspired by the interlocking straps of horse reigns and often used in carved wood and plaster in decorative accessories of that time.

Size 7.5-ish and would make for a wonderful gift for the more sentimental among us! Sometimes the more unusual stones carry more emotional connections.
