Finally! My very own antique engraved wedding ring, actually in my size & with really crisp engraving! I have been looking for over a year. It’s so crisp that I’m not sure it had much wear, but I am at peace with the knowledge that many women died young in those days.

The engraving inside reads “A and D, Oct 3rd 1917. The hallmark reads Plat22k, so I know it’s American as European gold is marked ct.

It has a lot more heft that I imagined, fits like a glove & feels like butter. I intend to wear it as a RH ring (& you all know Lazy Ally doesn’t take things off!) but it might actually fit into my wedding stack quite nicely too. Annoyingly I haven’t had chance to play around with it yet though.

Welcome home, beautiful :kiss2:

It's stunning and perfect and i LOVE it!

Oh wow, what a find @Ally T! It's really beautiful!

Beautiful, the engraving looks nice and crisp, but old, if that makes sense!

I really love the two tone. I can’t quite see the engraved pattern. Is it a blossom design?

 Lovely, and the rounding on the inside? I'm becoming obsessed with the profile. I need that shank on my rings.

Yes, it has the most perfect tiny blossom flowers all the way around. I utterly love it. And my youngest (14) is a huge history buff & planning a career as such, has asked if she can have it when I have “old gnarly hands” as she’s obsessed with “crusty old things” that could tell her stories :lol-2:

I recognize this pretty little thing, she’s so pretty… that engraving is perfect. So glad you kept to your search and held out for the perfect one… it was so worth the search! Congrats! ❤️

Simply gorgeous, Ally. A perfect find.

October 1917 - was he about to leave for the war? A poignant date.

Thank you, beautiful. She definitely needs company. At the moment I have her just with my 1.5mm plain 18ct yellow Tiffany Lucida, which I barely remove, but I think these two new RH friends need a sparkly third……

It's so beautiful, Ally. What a find!

It's beautiful!!! I love that you find the right match for you!
I'm similarly looking for a needle in a haystack. I want an antique band with our wedding date and year (10-01-25 in case anyone is looking!) Size 8.5-9, beautiful engraved detailing and preferably 2mm. But I'm thinking in the meantime I might break that search up into 2 different bands 1- vintage engraved, thin ring to add my own inscription on and 2- a band with the original 10-01-25 date... not picky on the metal or wear.

I don't mind multiple bands... your ring is gorgeous. I'm so happy you found your perfect match!
