So when Sunday night/Monday morning rolls around I''m anxious to see if anyone had a magical weekend...

Is it just me (yeah, probably)... I look at my local newspaper''s online celebration section to see if I know anyone who got engaged (they get posted on Sunday''s).... even if I don''t know them it''s so fun to see all of the happy couples!

I just checked and I am not engaged yet! Bugger!! Oh well, good things come to those who wait. I am going to need a truck to collect mine..........

My sister got engaged yesterday in the BVI''s!! I was stunned!! To be honest I was not really sure if her fiance was ever going to proprose, he has never really showed any signs of wanting to settle down- and I was worried it was all going to go wrong. Sister would only really talk about their relationship when it was going badly so I guess I only ever really heard the bad stuff and made a judgement on him based soley on that which was incredibly ignorant of me..... so it just goes to show you shouldn''t judge a book by its cover.....

The proposal was 2 years in the planning!! He took her out on a dingy to a place called Honeymoon Bay and told her the exact time they had been together 5 years, 10 months and 12 days, then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!! SHe was shaking all over, said yes then rang me!! Needless to say there was lots of screaming all round!!!

I am over the moon for her and him. AND she asked me to be her MOH/Chief bridesmaid ( can I be a MOH if I''m not married??) ( the bridesmaids are three of the children she used to look after) I am so thrilled that she asked me as we have a bit of a fiery relationship but I am going to do the best job possible!

Yay!!!

Congrats to your sister and her FI!!! That sounds like a beautiful proposal! And two YEARS of planning?! Holy maracas, that''s incredible! Congrats to them!

In answer to the bolded part, you''re a maid of honour if you''re unmarried, and a matron of honour if you are (to my knowledge, anyway). That kind of annoys me, actually--why does the woman''s role in the wedding change with her marital status, but the best man is that regardless of whether he''s married or not? Just like the Mr. vs. Miss/Ms./Mrs.--I dunna like it.

I totally check out the celebration section of my hometown paper every Sunday night or Monday morning. You''re not the only one!! Sometimes when I run across old friends it''s fun to see where they''re living now and where they work because it includes that info, too.

I''m hoping that Delster gets one this week

A friend of mine just proposed to his GF this week/weekend! I am so excited for them! They are a LOVELY couple (she is a model and will make a STUNNING bride!). I really like getting a bit older (only 25 here) because I am so much more confident in the marriages now than the earlier ones (many of which seemed doomed from the start!) I am so happy to be happy for my friends, rather than anxious. OH! How could I forget! My other childhood/family friend got married to her boyfriend/fiance of 10 years! SO sad that I couldn''t attend the wedding
