besides getting drunk...

Probably going to go out to eat somewhere and then we'll celebrate at FI's house with a few of his brothers & friends.

For some reason, I have no desire to go out and spend 130$ on a ticket to get into a bar.

I'm buying me some patron and I'll be good to go...maybe some sinfully pink (which I have to say goodbye to soon, for nursing school).

One word:

Cranium!

No. SO came back for Christmas so he can't come back for New Year's Eve. It's not my favorite holiday anyway but it's going to suck (just being honest).

We are watching the last sunset of the year with a bottle of champagne on the beach and we will be in bed by 10pm. DH is on day shift new years eve and new years day so it is just going to be another day for us really.

I've never liked starting the new year with a hangover so i do like the idea of waking up bright and fresh faced ready for the new year.

Happy New Year Everyone! :wavey:

We're haven't gone out for New Year's since our son was born 6 years ago, so this year, we are going out to dinner with 3 other couples and then coming back to our house for dessert and board games...I'm so excited! Just to get to go out with grown-ups is terrific!

DH and I, plus a few great friends are going to the venue where we had our wedding. They are essentially having a wedding (minus the bride and groom). There will be a cocktail hour, sit down dinner, dancing and then breakfast after the new year, plus a premium open bar all night. Afterwards we rented a hotel room and are planning a new years day brunch the next morning.

Some friends have a party at their house every year, so that's where I'll be!

Dinner out with my FI

then back to meet up with family for fireworks in London town (FSIL's home is near the Thames)

nope..at home with the kids. I'm sick so I'm pretty sure I'll be in bed hopefully sleeping..if not maybe I'll be lucky enough to find a Law and Order marathon. My mother in law will be with us. She has alzheimers and my husband doesn't want her to be alone.

We're having people over to our house for NYE.

If you don't have plans yet, you're welcome to visit the elledizzy household! :naughty:

We don't usually make plans for NYE. Sometimes we do but not often. We'll probably order food in and watch "Lost." We just began watching the series and we're slightly addicted to it.

Game night at our house, our family loves apples to apples!

I LOVE Apples to Apples!

We have no idea what we're doing this year. We threw a party last year with DH's close friends, yet three out of the four couples had babies over the last year, which doesn't really make them great candidates for a party.

I need some good ideas! My sister and her FI are in town, so we'll do something with them. My good friends are going to a party waaaaaay out in the suburbs, so we don't want to go because the drive home will be too much.

The local roller rink is having a skating party and I would LOVE to do that, but DH refuses. We got him to Skate on State (which was really Skate on "Randolph") a couple years ago. He shuffled around the ice one time, clambered off, and refused to get back on. He spent the rest of the night pouting behind the wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

Well, we're going out for dinner with friends....HOWEVER, I'm having an attack of shingles and it's kind of painful....so if I'm not feeling that great tomorrow nite I'm cutting my evening short.

HeHe...nope, we are going out and getting drunk. Its the thing to do in vegas......lol...actually we are going to see a local band( they dont charge a cover, thank goodness) and will ring the new year in with them, and than go to our favorite dancing club to have a few dances. LoL.....O, and at some point in time, there will be a dinner. Dont know where, but somewhere. LoL.....C will make me eat :blackeye:

I have a bad habit of not eating during the day, and when we go out for cocktails and dancing, i tend to get a little sick. I just get so busy during the day that i forget.

You said in your '25 things about you' that you are always trying to lose weight...but forgetting to eat will do the opposite of that! Don't 'forget' to eat or it will be a long battle with weight loss, girl!

Yes, I agree!
You should start with pickles--they make a great snack!

Oh I love that game! The ILs gave me and DH that game for Christmas. The four of us ended up playing most of the night. We'll definitely be playing that tomorrow night!

We did, but my friend's father is in a coma and it is more important that she be with him, because it looks grim, though he has pulled through before. So DH and I will have a quiet dinner and find some creative way to ring in the new year.

I know, I know...i get the same thing from C, i just forget...LoL.....

I've heard that Apples to Apples is a good game but I've never played. I don't know much about it but I may have to pick it up tomorrow. Have you ever played Rumikub? That's a fun one too.

What is this Apples to Apples game? I have never heard of it.
