Hi, My name is Chris from Shane Co. Thanks so much for your question, and we're definitely happy that you're interested in a setting. Unfortunately, we don't have wiggle room in our prices as we don't mark them up enough to mark them down as we try to provide the lowest prices possible everyday. Tom Shane likes to say that "We don't mark our prices up, just to mark them down a few days a year." In any case, we're definitely here to help and if I can be of more service please feel free to respond to this post or you can reach out to me via email [email protected].
My wedding set is from Shane Co. because I couldn't find anywhere else that had a setting using the color sapphires I wanted, and I didn't care to go the custom route when an affordable version existed at Shane Co. they don't have the greatest reputation as jewelers go (I feel weird saying that now that one of their employees have commented on this thread) but I do love my set. They had typical "mall store" responses to my questions about cut and certification (in other words - no certification and "very nice" cut), but at the time I wasn't very well educated. I am, fortunately, very happy with my diamond and setting, but I might have chosen a stone elsewhere looking back on it. I have since moved away from where I bought the stone and we don't have a Shane Co. anywhere around here, so the lifetime warranty has since been voided since I didn't keep up with the maintenance and didn't feel like shipping my ring off all the time just to have it re-plated for free or checked. As long as you have insurance, the lifetime warranty is not that big of a deal. If you post a picture, the great folks here can help you look for something similar, but if you do stick with Shane Co., just go into it with a good Pricescope education
