I'm looking for a little 4mm colored stone to put in a setting that I just bought from the lovely K9 here on PS. The trouble is, so far all I've been able to find are either matched pairs or stones that are way too big for the setting. Since it's so small, I want something that will really POP with color. I'm not fussy about what the actual color is (just no orange/yellow).

Soooo, does anyone have any suggestions? I'd be eternally grateful.

Here's a photo of the setting with and without a stone. I am toying with the idea of a diamond, but I'd REALLY prefer a colored stone. :lickout:

Contact Bob Kast for a little hot pink tourmaline - inexpensive, he cuts them in rounds and they have the hottest colour I've seen. It's been a while since I've contacted him so I don't know if he's retired yet. You might be able to find him on DiamondBistro.

Hi Chrono,

Good idea, thanks! I bet he probably has something if he's still cutting, so I just shot him an email. I have a few of his stones, just didn't think to ask since it's been so long since I've seen anything. I'd LOVE to get my hands on a pool blue tourmaline, but I have a feeling that would be a long search. I don't mind spending a bit more for the stone since it's a piece I plan to keep for many years. I also posted over on the preloved to ask if anyone has something that would work. I'm sure I'll find something soon! ::)

Another question...Would a zircon be safe enough to use since the setting seems to protect the stone or is it a bad idea? I *love* the color.
