It is like the Leo diamond at Kay’s and Jared’s. Many more facets and you get the splintered fire instead of the larger flashes with traditional hearts and arrows cutting. It will hide imperfections better as well. If you have ever looked at Leo diamonds, they are sold according to carat weight. Color and clarity are not a factor; it is the luck of the draw as to which you get because the philosophy is that it doesn’t matter so much as most of that is masked with the cut. Can be eye catching but worthless IMO except to the company that sells them. They will be happy to take it back in trade on another overpriced, hack job of a cut diamond.

I love the icy white look of a diamond and only prefer color when I see the delicate pastels of an old cut that has kozibe. Seeing it splinter everywhere just sends signals to my brain that it's fake. I think the majority of people wouldn't think its a natural diamond on first glance either.

I’d love to see a regular rotating diamond image of one of these, so I could watch the color for myself and move it back and forth, instead of a YouTube video. I doubt I’d actually like it, but I’d check it out.

There are a couple
Videos on YouTube that show the Leo First Light. It’s kind of cool looking but it looks nothing like a diamond. If there was a generic lab version of this available I might buy it for a fun different kind of pendant but I’d never spend money on a mined diamond for it to look like that.

Interestingly enough, the Leo diamond now has several iterations. You can go to Kay Jewelers website to see them. They also claim to sell ideal cut diamonds but they are far from ideal IMO. Some of their diamond jewelry is now set in sterling silver - really?

That diamond has simply been shot in pin point lighting. You can get the same effect under a broad leaf tree on a slightly overcast day.

The difference with an old cut is the fire is large and slow moving so when you see a flash you can follow it through a range of rotation.
These are tiny teeny flashes that - as they say in their promo video - are seen from the other side of the room. Better than close up!

I don't know. Admittedly I love fire, it's my favorite thing about diamonds and moissanites. There just seems to be something off with that one. As I said above it looks holographic. It reminds me of book covers that used to be popular in school with the same type of reflective pattern. Shoot, I even loved the book covers so I'm not sure why I don't care for it in the stone. I fully expected to love it because there was more colored light return.

The micro prisms are on the pavilion of the diamond. They are not going to wear off as the pavilion of the mounted diamond does not receive any wear. I have seen them before at the JCK show. I was not tempted to bring any back to the office...
