I am glad I saw this. My big boy Jade is in the process of ruining my couch. He also enjoys waking us up by scratching the mattress... We''ve tried spraying him and he LIKES it and yelling at him doesn''t faze him at all! I think I am going to try these. Thanks!

LOLOL...that picture is so funny!!!

And I'm laughing at he likes the water LOL.... Have you tried the clear tape strips called sticky paws??? When Vinny misbehaves, I find that the key is to *immediately* get in his face and blow at him. Hmm, maybe it's my breath? LOL

I took a 2nd shot at the claws and I petted her scruff while checking her nails so she wouldn't hiss at me again (she must've swatted me too because I found a scratch on my arm that I didn't know was there! LOL)...this time she let me look...I think the medium would work as well...

Now...whether or not she'll stand still long enough to let me do this is another story!!!

Do you fill up each of the "paws" with glue and slide them over the cats' nails???

Yep, the kit comes with everything you need...even tips to put on the glue tube so you can put it right down into the claw cover. You fill it 1/3 full, and then just slide it on as far as it will go (the edge should stop just below the cuticle). I filled all the claw covers first, so that I wouldn''t have to do them one by one while holding the kitty.

your kitty is adorable.. and the claw covers look really cute.. like shes got pink nail polish on.. but I think my kitty would HATE them.. but they might be useful to her, because she gets her claws stuck in EVERYTHING.. unintentionally.. its like she doesnt know how to retract her claws properly.

I also wanted to say that my cats, for whatever reason NEVER claw furniture on purpose. Like I said, my cat gets her claws stuck in things, like when she is walking, and has put little pulls in a sweater or something, but neither one of my cats scratches furniture. We get those cheapo cardboard scratcher boxes. They are like $5 each, except now we get the double wide ones because they like to use them as beds.. And they scratch those ALL the time.. we just put a little catnip on them when we first open a new box, and the cats LOVE them. We have one of those expensive scratcher poles that is carpeted and another scratch pad that is like carpet and they want nothing to do with them. They love the cardboard!

That''s not a bad idea either!!! Since Smokey has no claws, we never had to think about these things...great ideas everyone!!!

OMG, I''m sooo jealous. I bought Lucy one of those cardboard thingies, along with a scratching post, smeared catnip all over both of them...but does she EVER use them? NO. She very much prefers either the couch or the corner of my mattress.

Smokey has never liked catnip...we''ve bought so many toys over the years...he won''t play with anything long-term except a wadded up piece of paper into a paper ball...then he''ll play fetch for hours!!

I tried these, once, almost 6 years ago when I was moving to LA from WV. I brought my 9 month old Abyssinian kitten, Electra, with me on the plane. Her carrier was a soft Sherpa carrier, so I figured it would be a good idea to try the nail caps. Good thing I did! She would have totally clawed her way out of that carrier if it hadn''t been for those nail caps. A couple of them popped off during the trip, and the rest lasted just a little over 2 weeks. I''m thinking of trying them again, since my future husband''s furniture is "very nice" and will be moving in next month. I now have 2 cats, Electra, and Seth (a bronze Egyptian Mau) and they both can be destructive.

I have not, but I checked out the website and I''m intrigued....

Reminds me of "Meet the Parents"...hehehehehe

Has anyone ever heard of folks having success with this, or had success yourself??
